MSE_Laura_F said:I emailed customerexperience@biercompany.co.uk with a few questions, including whether a customer can receive the free box and then cancel without incurring charges. I got a reply to say my message is being passed to the founders in case a more in-depth chat is needed, but they also said:
"To answer your questions in brief:
- A customer can absolutely cancel after receiving the free box
- A subscription isn't charged ahead, it's charged on the day of renewal
- Cancellations are handled through this email address or by calling our customer service team"
Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch.
We are no longer using/monitoring this email. If you would like to get in touch with customer support please do so by using our contact us form here.

Bier Company
I'll update on progress...1 -
I went for the free box as their customer services said you could cancel afterwards. I got my box today without the free glass.
I got the following reply to my request to cancel using the online form
"Hi Moneybot,
Thanks for getting in touch!
A couple of notes before we process your request:
We always aim to deliver next day, but due to very high demand for free boxes, some participants' orders could not be dispatched on Friday.
We are also ordering more gold Bier Club members' glasses, but sadly did not have stock to include in everyone's free box. If you did not receive your glass it will be sent in your next box on 1st May.
If you'd like to cancel your free box / subscription before then:
- If your free box has not yet been dispatched (you will have received an email confirming your order has been fulfilled) - simply reply to this email confirming your order number / email you used to order.
- If your free box has already been dispatched, please give us a call on 020 4538 1080 after 5 working days. This period is to ensure you've had a chance to enjoy your beers, and can take advantage of free shipping on the site.
Please note, on the 1st of May we will be issuing 3 black cards in our monthly prize draw (usually this is just 1).
Thanks,
Cameron"Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

I've had the same proforma response from "Cameron".I think that it's a sick joke to try to encourage us to continue with the monthly subscription by offering an entry into a competition to win a Black Card. According to Stefan & Tom I have already won a Black Card in the last draw!

Myself and husband also got caught up in this and uaed the promo code for a month free ,but now he cannot login it says he doesn't have an account so can't find how to cancel it .He has just emailed the address mentioned in a previous post on this thread so we are hoping they will cancel it without any issues but after reading this thread I'm not feeling so sure . Has anyone managed to cancel their subscription?0

From a legal perspective the subscription contract did state that their would be a monthly cost of £22.95 before discounts are applied. The SLOOFLIRPA discount code gives you 100% off the price therefore I believe the contract stands but the monthly cost will be Zero which is in line with the offer I received. If Bier Company do charge £22.95 to my credit card then they are fraudulently charging my card and I will taking legal action against the Company.0

I've tried to cancel through the form but am yet to recieve any sort of reply from them. I'm swamped with work today but I will phone them tomorrow if I don't get a response, and I'll post an update here.
My issue isn't exactly that they tricked everyone on april fools, its that there is no way to easily unsubscribe, I'm of the opinion that if you have a subscription service it should be as easy to unsubscribe as it is to subscribe.
I'm fairly certain there was a legal ruling about something similar as well regarding gym memberships? Something about how unsubscribing shouldn't be made hard just for no reason, does anyone know of an organisation to report it to?1 -
