I also received this email and very nearly got sucked in. Is it worth making an official complaint about this, and if so how would you go about it. Surely the winning email clearly states:
"Out of all our entrants this month, you are our 4th Black Card winner!
Simply follow biercompany.co.uk/BlackCard and use the code 'SLOOFLIRPA' to claim your prize now.
As Black Card winner you are entitled to a free subscription to the Bier Club for the rest of your life, including:
- Delivery of 8 beers each month
- Free delivery sitewide
- Access to our member's areas with earlybird prices
- A gold-plated members only Craftmaster glass
- A personalised gold-engraved black card "

I believe nothing on April 1st. 😔
@kittycatty would it be possible for you to edit your title to something a bit more relevant, as if anyone else joined the subscription, they can see the thread and know what to do.
Not sure what you could rename it but something like 'Bier Company - April Fool email [Please Read]' could work.
I hope everyone manages to make sure they aren't subscribed to anything, absolutely awful 'joke'
For this I'd type in one word, probably the most 'rare' word from a post, so for this I'd search 'Bier' click Discussions, Sort by: Newest, Category: Compers Chat Corner, untick ideas and polls. Filter, then I usually have the post I am looking for, if it hasn't come up before.Think it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0 -

My wife (who received the email) reported them to the Advertising Standards Agency, and from reading online other people are too.1

I have just submitted a complaint to the ASA and I believe quite a lot of other people have too. Not sure if I have done it right though, none of the options given on the online form seemed to fit but we will wait and see. Interesting link here

It's probably also worth making others aware of the scam here:

After reading loads of complaints on trust pilot I think that the company is going to go in to liquidation sometime in the near future.1

Also received (& fell for) this. I received the ‘free’ box a day later, they certainly rushed their orders out. I don’t mind paying for one month to account for this (&m you lack of reading ability), but it was so underhand. I certainly won’t be continuing.0

I emailed customerexperience@biercompany.co.uk with a few questions, including whether a customer can receive the free box and then cancel without incurring charges. I got a reply to say my message is being passed to the founders in case a more in-depth chat is needed, but they also said:
"To answer your questions in brief:
- A customer can absolutely cancel after receiving the free box
- A subscription isn't charged ahead, it's charged on the day of renewal
- Cancellations are handled through this email address or by calling our customer service team"
