If you had a single noise issue with a neighbour literally several years before and they immediately stopped the noise you surely them wouldn't have to mention it?Whether it's a formal complaint or not doesn't make a difference. The exact wording on the TA6 is...Have there been any disputes or complaints regarding this property or a property nearby? Is the seller aware of anything which might lead to a dispute about the property or a property nearby?

If you think that it might lead to a dispute then yes, you do.

Seems weird how you can hear it but your husband can't? If its loud enough to prevent you sleeping and it can be heard over the TV, surely others should be able to hear it?

Different people hear a range of frequencies more/less/differently/not at all.

Shibby has said she has sensitive hearing. This obviously complicates things, as it'll be harder to determine what is a 'reasonable' amount of noise/vibration.If the noise & vibs produced is pretty 'normal' for such an abomination, then the only realistic solution is for the OP to move, and ensure their next place has adequate gaps between the house and its boundaries.Who the hell wants to live beside someone who thinks a hot tub is a cool thing anyway. Lawdie.(Not that I'm judgemental, of course...)6

Next neighbour might be a person with a load of carp....Pumps running 24/7 and water splashing; especiallyfrightening to some of us older folk!3

Hypersensitivity to certain noise frequencies is a symptom of ADHD. When the bin lorry idles outside my house I want to scream, and its there for less than a minute while they empty the 11 bins in my crescent. I understand completely why the noise distresses you and not your neighbour or your husband. I have no suggestions to reduce/dampen the noise, maybe a Hot Tub forum could help.3

@House13 it's both, so I messaged her just asking if the hot tub was on and that there was a new noise that was none stop that was making me poorly since it had been switched on.
She messaged back saying it wasn't the hot tub and to come over and listen, she's middle aged and lives with her dad and he then started blaming my heating (which I told him multiple times I've had powered off at the plug so it's not that as the pump can't run on the boiler when it's off).
I went over and asked her to turn it off for 5 minutes. She started screaming and shouting at me. I told her I could feel the deck vibrating underneath me. So she then stormed into my house saying she couldn't hear the noise (please bear in mind though it would be impossible to hear anything when you're shouting and screaming and stomping around)
She then agreed to turn it off for 5 minutes. I went home and the sound stopped which I told her. I then offered to pay for insulation or whatever it would take to sound proof the thing. She shook my hand and said she would look into it (fob off) and she wouldn't do it for 6 months and it would cost her £500 to get the thing emptied. She then apologised for screaming at me but refused to do anything about the sound and we left on "good terms" but the issue unresolved.2 -
Simple solution, make noise and slam windows, don't let them enjoy it.0
