    That makes much more sense, especially if you are the first occupant.  Send them a photo of today's reading and explain why the usage is low.

    I have since explained and they understand however they still wont accept keep me on my previous tarrif. they said, if i give them the photo, they will have to process it as new and I will be automatically be put on the higher tarrif.???

    Unless you've opted for a fixed tariff, you'll remain on SP's capped Standard Variable Tariff regardless of whether you send a photo or give a reading.
    Similarly, the capped rate will have increased from 1 April as it did for everybody on a capped SVT.
