Yes most recipes will contain oil or fat of some sort, except the 'french bread' type recipes which are usually without fat and milk - it's the absence of fat in french bread that means it doesn't keep very long, which is why the french buy their bread fresh 2 or 3 times a day.

I have an old Panasonic, and a Morphy Richards and use olive oil in both, although the older recipe books do say use butter.0

Mine arrived on Monday (I ordered on Friday). So far I've had a wholemeal (made with half white and half w/meal) and I have a plain white loaf in the machine as we speak. I'm making small loaves, as I'd prefer to bake it more often and have the bread as fresh as possible- there's only 2 of us in the house!0

I just made pizza dough with mine......the kids have demolished it and said it was lovely!!! Huge hit.....strongly recommended
