Not much information that I can find but I am concerned about whether our Economy 7 meter is going to stop switching on the 1st April as I have read that the RTS signal which does the time switching is going to be turned off. Meter is a Sangamo S309.5, does this use the old RTS?
Don't want a smart meter so is it possible to get meter upgraded to a more modern non-smart meter if necessary?

RomfordNavy saidSo is it possible to get an RTS meter changed for a non-RTS Economy 7 meter like you have.1

Then your default is a dumb E7 meter like I have. The 7 reduced rate hours would move with the clocks.
That's if your energy provider doesn't say your meter is now faulty and requires changing to a smart meter.

Now I understand, thanks. So need to keep an eye on the normal/low switching times. Anyone know how to adjust the internal clock if it goes wrong?0

Hi,you can't adjust internal clock, or folks would have it set to cheap rate 24/7.2

Off the subject but this has got me thinking: is there any profit to be made by getting some industrial batteries and an inverter. That could be charged up during cheap rate period and used to provide that stored power during the higher rate period.
