Post Office Claim Form

Hello,
Sorry to start a new post but the post I started in 2019 is now closed.
I've now received a 'Claim form' and have 14 days to respond. This has been going on for sometime as I've heard nothing from them, I thought this had been canceled but I've received a claim form now.
Just a reminder of the back story....
I parked in a post office to send a parcel and the sign in the car park said I could receive a 'fine' if I'm not using the post office. I did use the post office as was there less than 10mins but don't have evidence of using the post office. They said i should have put in my details in a key pad but at no point did i see a sign for this as was in a rush and no one in the post office mentioned it to me. I did argue the fact the sign said 'fine' as i know its not legally a 'fine'. I also sent the photo evidence to POPLA but they didn't help me. I have to write my defense on this Claim form and could not find what I needed on the newbies section so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If it is a claim form from the CCBC in Northampton and not a debt collector letter, then you should follow the guide to court written by bargepole that you will find in the second post of the NEWBIES.
Do not submit your AoS until after day 5. DO NOT send your defence with the AoS or using the MCOL website.
What is the issued date on the claim form please? Hopefully one of the regulars will be able to give you some important dates to put in your diary as a result.
You should submit your defence by email later, using the template defence written by Coupon-mad that you will find in one of the sticky Announcements at the top of the forum. Only amend the pats relevant to your case, usually paragraphs 2 and 3, and post only the parts you have amended here for checking.
What happened when you complained to the landowner and/or the Postmaster/Postmistress and/or the Postmaster General? It id never too late to get a landowner cancellation, and the Post Office has received a lot of bad press with regards to false claims against some of its employees.
Remind them that they could be involved in this court claim as well if they refuse to cancel it.
You should also complain to your MP and ask them to forward it to the MP where the Post Office in question is situated.
Do you have a link to your old thread? We have seen a lot of them closed by MSE Towers, so I suggest you ask a board guide (soolin or savvy) to reopen it and merge it with this thread.

Morning and thank you for replying so fast.
The issue date on the claim for is 25 March and only received it last night. I've tried to google it but what do you mean by AoS and MCOL? When i called the Post Office i asked for the video of me walking into the building and posting my parcel but they said they would only let me see the video with Police authority. I don't think they count as the land owners thought and they have received back publicity in the past from our local paper. The claim form is from CCBC in Northampton.
Here is the link to the old posts https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5956908/post-office-parking-ticket#latest so hopefully we can get it back open.
I'll look at the templates you've mentioned above
thanks

The fifth post in the NEWBIES has a list of acronyms and abbreviations common to this forum. I suggest you write them out or print them off before you proceed further.
Email or write to the Postmaster/Postmistress and or the Postmaster General/Head of the Post Office then. Never try to deal with a PCN by 'phone.
Get pics of the site and signage if you don't already have them from when the original PCN was issued.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Have you read the newbies and complained to your MP?
Some judges regard theis type of claim as a wqate of court time. read this

Yes, I've complained to my MP and have included stories from my local paper around local people who have received the same Parking Notice from the same car park.D_P_Dance said:Have you read the newbies and complained to your MP?

You don't only have 14 days. You need to read the forum top threads first.
Don't write a defence on the claim form and don't put it in online, either. What to do is completely covered in the Template Defence thread and the NEWBIES thread 2nd post.
What's the date of issue of the claim?
And which PPC? (acronyms are fully explained in the 5th post of the NEWBIES thread). No need for another link. You have that at the top of the page - see my signature below for what your link to page one looks like, if unfamiliar with forums.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

splodge2018 said:The issue date on the claim form is 25 March...With a Claim Issue Date of 25th March, you have until Wednesday 13th April to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 27th April 2022 to file your Defence. That's almost four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
Hello all,
Just an update. I've Acknowledged the service via MCOL and have started writing my defense and will submit by email as you've highlighted above.
I'm a little nervous if it goes to court but feel my defense is strong.
Thank you for all your help guys.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks,

Post your draft defence here for checking before you submit it. Only post the parts you have amended.
