E.on taking my m3 readings as ft3 - higher bills

I’ve done everything possible. I will phone them again Friday to hopefully get this resolved, I really can’t understand how they can’t realise how simple it is to see, thick isn’t a word I can really use for these people, unless being deliberately put off from actually doing anything0

I mean I only heat a 50l water cylinder twice a day,so there’s is obviously something going on with the meter. After they installed a smart meter for gas you can clearly see that we’re only using around 100kwh a week.0

Always read and understand your bill1 -
So to be clear is your issue with bills raised when the old meter was in place? If so do you have photos or other evidence from the old meter?Kickeminballs79 said:I mean I only heat a 50l water cylinder twice a day,so there’s is obviously something going on with the meter. It's Bank Holiday on Friday, doubt they'll be open.Kickeminballs79 said:I’ve done everything possible. Wouldn’t bother writing, you’ll wait forever for a response & have no proof of delivery. Send an email, at least then you have proof it was sent & it’s received instantlyRobin9 said:

Yes the last bill, gave last readings to octopus and eon they both confirmed that, old meter still in place until this £578 bill came in hence why they changed to a smart meter and I haven’t stopped complaining to them. It’s really only since changing to eon that this has happened. I have photo of old meter with reading on. I know the previous readings were correct as Scottish power and octopus have come out to read. So it’s either a leak at the meter or the meter has somehow gone faster ?? But no way have we used 255 cubit feet of gas, theoretically it can be done but the boiler and house would be toast and why would you want that on anyway when your working 14 hour days ??Qyburn said:

It's not clear from what you've said, that you are "exactly in the same situation". You appear to have said you suddenly had a high bill, complained and the meter was changed to a smart one. The implication of what you have said is that your older meter was actually m3 and when you changed to E.on you started being charged in Cu.ftKickeminballs79 said:

Your photo of the old meter should show whether it measured in Cu.ft. or m3.
Do the readings on the bills actually tally with your pictures?
If you look carefully at your bills it should show you the calculations for the meter readings converting to kWh and that conversion should not be done for Cu/ft for the Smart meter.
If what I think the situation is, isn't the case, you need to explain a little more clearly.0 -
Just to echo that point, during the period in dispute was your meter reading in cu.m and was the supplier billing you in cu.ft? If not then it's a completely different situation.Phones4Chris said:
