We had Safe Style come out to quote for a back door. The guy was hard selling like his life depended on it. It was like a 101 of making a sale. He even did the phoning his boss trick for a better deal.

Decided not to use them and get a local tradesman instead.

The doors will have Everest’s 20 year guarantee
For £6K, I can have all my doors & windows replaced (3 bed semi) and still have change left over - Just waiting on the last couple at the front to be done.
You do realise that Everest have been offering "guarantees" on their products in a previous incarnation - After they went bust in 2020, many of these guarantees were worthless. Everest 2020 Ltd was only incorporated in March 2020, so it is a bit misleading of them to say that the company has been around since the 1960s....

We need to replace Mum’s patio doors. We’ve had a quote from Everest of £6,125. This will be for a double outward opening UPVc set of french doors set into the space where there are some double glazed tilt and slide panels. There will be criss cross bars on the windows to make them look like they are made up of small window panes like a 1930s french window, giving the image of 15 “individual panes” per door. There will be polished gold effect straight modern handles. The doors will have Everest’s 20 year guarantee and have some kind of Police security stamp allocated to them. There will be wood effect skins on the doors, white on the inside, green on the outside. I know that Everest charge a lot but does anyone have an idea of how the quote of £6,125 compares
Get other quotes, that's the way to find out how much this particular job in this particular house in this particular area should cost.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I had all of my windows replaced plus an aluminium bifold door fitted for £6.5k within the last 2 years. They’re having your eyes out…

Thank you everyone for some very informative replies. I had booked to have these French doors fitted, and paid the deposit, but the wheels are now in motion for cancelling and I’ve had it confirmed that the deposit is being returned. I’d originally felt that I didn’t have time for shopping around for quotes, but being mugged for the Everest price makes me now think it will be worth my time if I can get the job done for under the £6,125:00 quote (and that was with a “10% discount”). Many thanks to all who took time to share their opinions and knowledge, you’ve probably saved us a few thousand pounds £

shop around . stay local . would be good to talk to the person fitting the job . Or knew anything about the window business rather than a sales rep , keep this upto date and let us know how it goes

    Only a 10% discount ???
I got offered a 50% "grant" if I were to sign on the dotted line "today" - Even then, it was still over £2.5K more than I got quoted by a local independent. They also made the mistake of insisting that I have my partner present for the sales pitch... 1) I don't have a partner. 2) I am quite capable of making my own financial decisions (a point I repeatedly made to the salesman).
