SSE Fit payments

Has anyone had issues regarding trying to get in touch with SSE fit on the phone regarding their fit payment.

I gave a fit reading on 14/01/2022 also a photo of my fit meter on the 07/02/2022 as requested.

I only found out about needing to send a photo of my fit meter after I phoned and was told that

Tried phoning this past week and had not had any success there. The longest I hung on was half an hour.
I even tried to email the person that I spoke to in January no reply.

Now we are coming to the next quarter and I have not had the payment

It took me literally years of fighting with SSE to get my FIT payments set up and running.  It seems like they've barely staffed it and it frequently gets handed off to new staff or moved to different departments.  Luckily once I finally succeeded I got all the backdated payments and it's been steady and reliable since then.

Might also note that for me at least the readings need to be submitted a few days before the solstices and equinoxes, with payments issued a few weeks later, and readings submitted at other times just get ignored until next time.  So if I had submitted a reading on 14 January I would expect nothing until a few weeks after 21 March.  Might be different for you I don't know.

Thanks for the reply rhedyn. I have been with SSE since 2014 and all my payments from them have been on time.

I think this something to do with the OVO take over or whatever it is.

As the last was headed with this sse-revive-mail.ovoenergy.com  email address.

I will post more if I get any more information.

Thanks for the update Charlesgj, I will keep an extra eye out for the payment I should be getting soon to make sure it arrives.  If it doesn't I'll come back to this and we can compare notes.  Fingers crossed they get themselves sorted!

There's a thread on the Green board here specifically about FIT payment delays so you might find some info there

Thanks for that will look at it. I think there are problems with SSE in general as you just cannot get though to them by phone.
  • I have been trying to contact SSE about FIT payments for months and have only ever been able to talk with OVO staff on the dozen phone numbers I have tried.

I sent off a snotty email to the microgeneration email and this evening had a reply asking for a photo of the generation meter showing the number and the reading. They claim they haven’t done the two yearly physical check because of safety during Covid.

Well our meter is in an outside building so no need for contact with anyone if they made an appointment. Anyway they now owe for six months so had better pay up soon. We have been with them since 2012 and never had an issue before. Meanwhile SSE/OVO continue to take a huge D/D from us for electricity supply and we are massively in credit! So much for being part of the OVO family…

I am in the same boat, sent my meter reading and then photo of the meter in January, and no payment yet.  They say they will pay "within a quarter" and that is has not quite expired yet.
