I had my Suzuki Swift 1.0 serviced yesterday and on checking the receipt /bill - I have been charged for four spark plugs @ £25 per plug inc VAT
Before I go in with all guns blazing - am I correct in thinking that I have been overcharged and that there is not a 4th spark plug used for some other purpose in the turbo or something else ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Before I go in with all guns blazing -

Why would you want to go in "all guns blazing" in the first instance without giving them an opportunity to resolve the problem in an amicable way first?

The chances are that it's down to a simple mistake which will be quickly and easily sorted out.

  • They've refunded the difference....

I would never do that.  It then becomes your problem if something goes wrong after the car was serviced, because it was your parts that were fitted.  The garage will deny any responsibility.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I'd not really want to use the quality of garage that would agree to that readily.

I occasionally use an independent garage. If you ask them what parts they use, they always offer to fit the customer's parts. In general the customer's parts are normally superior. Eg someone will want Mobil1 oil or Brembo brakes. Garages normally fit the cheap stuff to increase their profits.
