No more insecure than any other form of communication, and I don't have to go through the rigmarole of logging in to a site. And no, I am not a technophobe - Have been involved with computers for a lot longer than some (anyone remember punch cards ?).
I also once worked on a Lyons Electronic Office (LEO) machine which BT were using in the 1970s to produce bills.1 -

Received first statement dated 2022-01-22, meter readings 15/12/2021 - 20/01/2022.
Received second statement dated 2202-01-25, meter readings 21/01/2022 - 23/01/2022.
Received third statement dated 2022-03-10, meter readings 24/01/2022 - 08/03/2022.
Received forth statement dated 2022-03-21, meter readings 09/03/2022 - 20/03/2022.
With Eon I was always on monthly billing paying on receipt of bill (POROB) and when I was switched to Eon Next I was still supposed to be still on monthly billing. However I am struggling to understand their billing frequency.
Can anyone help me?0 -

Worked for a company back in the 80s that used punch tape on their Excellon drills....
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I've submitted multiple readings since November but still not had a single bill or statement. It was a SOLR transfer from a bust supplier though so not sure if that makes a differenceRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

In the same situation as jimjames for my mum's transfer - just had another notice of DD, which come regularly every month, with account increasing in credit by the DD amount each month, but still not had a single bill generated. Submitting meter readings regularly....

Submit readings and a bill/statement is available in my account two or three days later. In addition, an e-mail advising that my latest bill is available to view in my account. Therefore, no, personally not seen any difference.1

I pay by variable direct debit now. Meter readings sent manually to them on 1st April, statement was issued 2nd April. On 8th April I get message telling me the DD amount (to reduce account balance to £0) would be taken on April 19th (which happened). Account now showing what I want it to show. Not for everyone for sure but at least I won't be concerned now about the DD being too low or too high. BTW I am not a SOLR customer of Eon Next having switched to them from Bulb in Septermber 2021.
