Their WS says they believe I copied my defence from things circulating on the internet, which isn't great.
    But it is great!

Do you not see how daft that is?!

Were you not expecting that?  We were.

That's normal in a Gladstones WS.  Guess what...their document is a template we've seen hundreds of times.

    How ironic...!

By the way it's not a fine.

You really need to read more Gladstones threads if you were not expecting that exact Witness Statement.  You appear to think you should be worried.  That tells me you haven't been reading other recent Gs threads to learn what to expect.

    1. Please can someone help me with my WS, is it even worth it? It seems there are no points I can fight against, I am not a professional within the legal system and I feel they are just going to catch me out. I don't know what points to argue when it seems they have quashed all of mine.

    2. If you see on their bundle, their parking signage has changed since the time of the fine. It was far less clear then. I don't see the point of collecting evidence as signage has changed.

    3. Also where can I request recovery of costs? I am self employed and this court hearing is a full day off work with no pay.
Your go to place for questions is the NEWBIE sticky
    1. Your WS is to back up and support with evidence whatever it was that you put in your defence.  Look at the exemplars by @aphex and @SJRRJS for format and style.
    2. If the signage has changed, that is good as they accept it was useless before.  Google Street View is a good place for previous signage.
    3. The exemplar WSs contain summary cost assessment examples and you ask the judge WHEN you win for costs.

A heads-up  -  you will see that in the above mentioned WS examples they refer to the BPA CoP because they are BPA AoS members  -  your claimant is an IPC AoS member so you should be using/quoting the relevant version of the IPC CoP.

Thanks, yes I know and agree I should’ve done more research. Currently swamped working for the NHS and just have not had the time. Even getting the defence done had really stressed me out. But thank you for your help.

I have a new problem now, I have just opened the post to find that Gladstone’s has sent a request to consolidate my two claims into one hearing which is great. But the new court date falls onto a date where I am on holiday and definitely cannot change my flights.
How can I request to change the date of the hearing for an earlier/later date?

    Any idea? 😫

If the o/p has 2x hearing dates and the claimant is looking to consolidate, then surely you write agreeing to consolidate, but on the date you actually can do?

The claimant is the only party who can write to the court...

Earlier in the process did you complete the DQ - N180 - and, if so, what dates did you put on it that you would not be available?  Is the date for the hearing covered by what you submitted?

Just correcting the very important missed word!

Tell the court you agree to consolidation of the claims into one hearing but state the dates you are away (adding 3 days either side for obvious reasons to cover yourself).

Yes when I completed the DQ in August 22, I put the dates I couldnt do. I wasnt aware the hearings would be almost a year later. So no I didn't include my dates away in July-August 23 and so not covered..

What is the best way to contact the court? Phone call? There was no information I could find
