A late good afternoon from me (again). Happy St Patrick's Day and a Happy Birthday to Snoozer.
Beautiful sunshine this morning with a breeze so I did a towels wash and got it out on the line early doors. It's all dry and put away and the laundry basket is empty - for now. I say "for now" as I'll be changing the lounge curtains for lighter coloured ones once the clocks go forward.
This morning the postie brought the CT bill along with info about the £150 rebate, so now I'm just waiting on the one for the water rates and my final salary pension increase (if any). Once I have those I'll be able to work out this year's budget - mine runs from April to March, like the tax year. We'll probably be OK until the end of August when our fixed price energy plan comes to an end, then it will be a different kettle of fish. With that in mind, I'm reining in any unnecessary spending and saving every penny I can to put towards next winter's gas and electricity. I've also decided to keep my grocery budget as it is, although with today's prices it does mean it won't go as far, so that's really a reduction by the back door.
I'm another one who likes non-wired bras in plain white (or black) without trimmings and up to now have found M&S ones the best but agree they're getting harder to find. I'll have to keep looking though as I shall need some new ones soon.
I've had a walk to the Co-op today for a couple of odds and ends and used x2 50p MOC membership offers. Not much in the YS section today so I didn't bother with anything from there. I did pick up a savings card though towards next Xmas; the stamps are £1 each and if you save £48 then they will add another £2 in December. I wouldn't normally bother with this but I'm thinking of giving the full card to DD - she's agoraphobic and already struggles with day to day living so it would be a big help to her.I’ll keep my fingers crossed, RR, that your meet up with a potential new client goes well next week.
Oh Izzy, I’m so sorry it wasn’t good news but fair play to the consultant for being honest and spelling out the options so you could make an informed choice.
Get well wishes to Mr taff.
I’m really sad for your DM, Nels. Be as kind to yourself as you can.
Cystitis is horrible, Florenceem, I hope it doesn’t hang around too long.
Have a peaceful evening all. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
