Shed company recommendations

Hello I’m thinking of buying a shed or summer house. Can anyone recommend a good company to purchase from. I have someone lined up to erect it but would be grateful for recommendations from someone who has recently purchased one.

I have had a couple of sheds from Tiger Sheds - Cheap, and rather lightweight in construction. Prices have gone up considerably since I last had one, and I couldn't recommend them as value for money at the moment. But I would imagine everyone else has put their prices up as raw timber has virtually doubled in recent times.
Who ever you go to for a shed, if you want windows, use real glass, not plastic.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Thanks for this. I will definitely go for real glass. I have a really old second hand shed (30+ years with me) which seems to be better quality than some of the ones I have looked at. Unfortunately it's far too small.

I found a local company that would build anything you asked them for, so I'd check out your area to see if there is anything like this around you. You can see their work in the flesh and specify exactly what you want.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Bought one from Tigersheds Oct 2020, from the express delivery section think it was delivered in 3 weeks which was really good for that year.

Prices are roughly 50% more now for the same shed but the one I purchased has been fine. I would use them again if I needed another (price dependant)

Thank you that's a good idea as I am looking for something wide and not too deep to fit into an awkward spot. I don't mind paying more for quality.

I bought an 8x6 potting shed from Purewell Timber Buildings last year. Ordinary sheds are a bit more difficult to compare like-for-like but they were definitely the cheapest for the style I wanted. Quality is fine, though I intend to upgrade roofing felt at some time in the future.Prices are nearly 50% up on a year ago but there is still some seasonal variation with Dec-Feb being cheapest time to buy. As we're just starting to get some finer weather, demand is rising. .
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

Hello I'm going for wood as it will be quite a prominent place and match my existing small shed. I have a feeling that this may end up a difficult task choosing the design!

One more question - What do you plan on using the shed for ?
The standard offerings from the likes of Tiger Sheds do not have much head room. Fine if you are relatively short (under 5'6"), but if you are longer in the leg, you'll be banging your head on the roof. As it is, I have to duck to get through the door (worth the extra for double doors).

  • I ordered a 8 x 6 pent shed (Caldey) from norfolksheds.co.uk which is made by Shire sheds - ordered in September and delivered November.
It was a decent spec with solid floor and roof, helpful delivery chap (who chucked in an extra roll of felt, and a spare window pane 'just in case'), and I thought a good price which hasn't gone up in the last 12 months.

The only negative is that they state that treatment is needed before, or at the time of building (i.e. it's effectively untreated on delivery), but maybe that's common to others.
