I've never used app-based savings accounts before, I understand that this account requires you to use face/voice recognition, does it require a passcode as well for account access or does it just rely on the voice/face recognition?

When you open the app, you can choose between Passcode, Face ID or Voice ID. All seem to work well for me.

It's been a while since I registered, so I can't remember whether you can opt out of any of those but I can tell you that a passcode isn't required when I use Face ID.

Sorry one other question - are the transfers in and out of this account fast (I'm comparing to Marcus level of quick during the week and weekends)?

Transactions to and from Atom's Instant Saver are limited to a linked current account in your name, which should make the account more secure.

Sorry - I only have fixed rate accounts with Atom so can't advise on that account specifically, but transfers into their Fixed Saver accounts are more or less instant for me for smaller amounts. Larger (4-figure) amounts were initially blocked by my bank but the transfers were quick once I was able to confirm them as genuine.

Hopefully someone with an Instant Saver can confirm whether that account is similar.

Only criticism I would have about Atom withdrawals is that you can't schedule them for a future date ( you can, for example, with Tesco. But not with arcus, either). Withdrawals are instant, at least on working days, but probably also weekends / bank holidays, and only to a "connected" account, which must be a UK current account in your name.
