Need advice on accident with a bus

location- Bristol

I was stopped at traffic lights it one car in front and multiple cars behind. On double lane. When the lights went to green , the car in front moved off and I started to move as road is bending to the right. I quickly stopped as I noticed the city link bus  next to me was entering my lane.
The bus then continued to drive and badly scratched my car on the passenger side wing, damaged the wheel and bend the bumper before coming to a stop where my car is lodged in to the back corner of the bus. Side of the bus is fully scratched I have contact the bus company and they are not clear about what the driver statement is. And the man who handling this claim, keep saying bus driver has different story so we are waiting for the cctv. Its been a week now. Still no cctv.  I have lot of photos and video after accident. Bus is in my lane. I and wedged between bus and the edge of the road.  Where do i go from here.

shouldn't your insurance company be sorting out who is to blame?

Either you claim off your insurance and they will deal with the bus company, go to an accident management company and they will do everything on credit and then recover from the bus company or continue to deal with it yourself and accept the timelines.

Whilst to you or I our vehicles are really important to us, want to get it fixed, we have an emotional and principle aspect to it the same won't be true for the bus company. There are layers of management things have to go through, its not their highest priority etc and it will simply take longer than you want which is why most go via their own insurance and let their insurers deal with the frustration etc.

    You have contacted your insurer?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

We have third party fire and theft. So we can’t claim any from ours . But obviously i have logged in with them.

As an aside, did you check the price for Comp before buying TPFT? In many cases due to negative selection TPFT is more expensive than Comp despite the lower coverage

On TPFT cover they will only work to prove that they are not liable if there is an allegation from the third part that they are... in a two vehicle incident that's basically the same thing but its reactive only whereas in a larger collision there is very much a difference.

With TPFT cover that eliminates option one but still leaves options 2 and 3... some accident management companies won't want to get involved if there is a potential dispute in liability but others will given how much they charge for the car rental they can afford to lose some cases.

If you are going to deal with it yourself then you can still be doing the ground work like getting estimates for the repairs etc so you are ready to move forward once the claim handlers for the bus company have gotten all their materials together.

If you are saying bus is at fault then you are covered.
But looking at the pics. No marks on bus before No 7 which is 3/4 down the bus. Which would point to bus being well in front at start of turn. Which should make any driver realise that they will need more space to get round & give them plenty of room 👍

If your lucky if will be a bus that has all round camera's.
