Wasnt expecting this as I rang about the IHD.

The reason I didnt wait a week as someone I know who actually works for EDF and has a lot of knowledge about IHD's made it clear if it was going to work it should be working by now.

This time the guy not only emailed me and I sent him the info he needed, but he also without me asking has taken ownership of the bill.

There has been acknowledgement as well now I may need a new appointment to fix the IHD as the commissioning process failed.  So hopefully things start progressing now.

    ---

Seems got hopes up too much, yep you guessed it, IHD still not doing anything, would seem silly to go to ombudsman to get a IHD working, but one has to wonder why a person on the phone says they can fix but then they wont do it whilst you on the phone with them.

Whats the bets here then 4 weeks, 6 weeks - 6 months before it works?

My bet is the bill will be concluded before the IHD is working.

Dont want to but I feel i am getting close to the point of having to escalate for the IHD.

Found the complaints email address.  I will need to go through this process before the ombusdman will do anything, I feel bad as all but one operator was polite and perhaps their hands were tied.  But taking this long to get a IHD activated is bonkers.

    It still isnt working.

Have you tried an email to the smart meter team - smart@octopus.energy ?

No as I wasnt aware of it, thank you for providing it.

I will try it, and hope someone actually responds to that address.

It may take a few days, just to set expectations, but it will get a response.

I got a reply from my contact 10 minutes ago, it would seem rude to send them a separate email now, so I will let his plan play out, he said they will contact me for the remote commissioning and gave me a time scale, I will contact the email address you provided if that timescale expires.  Thanks

It was so long ago I dont know the specifics, but it was large, as the bills reduced significantly. I went from bills of multiple 100s every quarter to under £50 if I remember right.

I know a lot about gas meter testing and it’s extremely rare to have any faults above a couple of percent.
