In terms of the readings coming in, they still averaging around 25% lower than the lowest daily readings on the old meter, and about 30-40% lower overall.
6.3 average since the install day, lowest daily reading I took from old meter was 8 which was rare.
IIRC for instance, you mentioned previously the XBox was on standby, but is now off?
That could have been 0.5kWh on its own.Nobody will ever really know, so it is just down to Octopus to see if they make a customer service gesture or not.The opportunity to actually prove anything has gone now.
Not getting it tested I may end up paying the price for, just a wait and see now.0 -
Chrysalis said:I forgot to ask him but I assume this will delay my eligibility for octopus agile as well. They only need to see a good flow of data from the electricity meter for the smart tariffs, so a delay on the gas meter will not affect anything....but, are you sure Agile is where you want to be?Unless you have a decent sized solar installation and intent to make plenty of use of the Agile Export tariff, there should be better options for you than Agile incoming...

I wouldn't be in a rush to move to Agile just yet, as it isn't protected by the price cap.

October 2021 update: Right now, wholesale energy prices are at record highs.
Agile's half-hourly pricing exposes customers to wholesale market rates. Over the past few years, this has enabled customers to save significantly compared to a standard tariff, but right now, Agile prices are consistently high.
Most homes will be better off staying on a standard fixed or variable tariff for the Winter.

I hate to say this but with 40% of usage offpeak then the OP might be better off on an E7 tariff. Agile has an upper limit of 35p/kWh but this is a supplier set upper limit that can be changed at anytime. Yes, Agile has had the odd night this year when the overnight unit price was low but this was as a direct consequence of the remote storms. Recently, the Agile unit price has been been 35p/kWh night and day.0

I will speak to them on the tariff, usually I could never get on an E7 tariff in the past as was always told it was for special circumstances. Also why do you hate to say it?
Interestingly Octopus keep marketing cheap night rates on my dashboard, so I guess thats not a consistent thing then?
Also the IHD is still not working, sadly the email never came as promised from the guy I spoke to he said would be sent when activated, so it looks like they making me wait longer, I guess for the gas meter to be fully hooked up, is a very slow process.0 -

Given the news as well that agile was not what I thought it was, thanks, that idea is in the bin.
Just checked all the tariffs, the E7 rates are barely equal to all day SVR rates, yes they are that bad, but compared to the all day rates, why would anyone not pick an E7 tariff when going fixed? about 2% extra for day rates and 30% cheaper at night.
Octopus go looks like what E7 should be, the tariff exists so Octopus can afford it, but for whatever ideological reason they making it exclusive to EV owners.
In short staying on SVR.2 -

In any case, it's possibly another incentive to make the swap to EV. £500 off your electricity bill is a decent contribution towards the purchase costs.0 -
