Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark - dry underfoot.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, some LO's of meat and yorkshires - that will become another meal either tomorrow night or the next. I was productive Saturday morning and then had easier day Saturday afternoon and yesterday. I have several different options for dinner tonight so will choose when I get in from work todnight.
Back to work today - we'll see what I work into this morning as I know that the colleague that should have worked Friday has gone sick so someone else had to fill in - not sure if this is going to be another sickness that turns into a long term thing - we'll see. Sickness situation is bad again and doesn't seem to be in any way being looked at by the management, it just creates so much pressure on those that are left as we don't have enough staff as it is. We'll see.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. I feel your pain regarding staff absences, when I worked in NHS, we were expected to work days off, and stay late to cover for colleagues, it was really out of hand. Glad I'm out of all that, hope your day is not too bad. It's a fine start here, hope it stays dry.I had a throat infection over the weekend and it's left me with a cough. While I feel fine now, I'm wondering if I should go to D*bbies to meet friends, the cough sounds bad but I'm fine. It's early yet, I 'll see how I go..I didn't do much yesterday because I didn't feel wonderful, but can soon catch up.Hope everyone has a good day - take care folks16

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope your staff member is back. I'm wondering if my colleague will be in, seems to be the same situation.
Hope your throat gets better soon Scarlet.
Busy day yesterday, went for a rather chilly dip, did the housework, baked some vegan biscuits and cakes for the little one who arrived with Mum and Dad. Her Dad has to take up golf with his work so he went up in the loft and took one of the sets of clubs from up there. Spent the rest of the afternoon knitting. Turns out I've knitted the wrong part of the hooded cardigan I was doing (seem to have done the round neck rather than the hooded one), didn't become apparent until I was sewing up the last bit. I'll get round to undoing it sometime but being fluffy wool it'll be a bit of a job - one I couldn't face yesterday!
Have a happy Monday, take care. XX15 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I think we have all worked at places like that in our time. Hope your day isn't as bad as you are anticipating.
Well the sun is shining and a pleasant day is forecast. I might pop in town this morning as there are odd bits I need with not going down Saturday. Although my Tes*o order was delivered yesterday all p & c. There was even a tin of soup I hadn't ordered which must have fallen in from someone else's crate! As youngest DGD was helping me unload the crates I didn't notice it until the driver had gone. They said to keep it, not worth the driver coming back for it! So a Brucie bonus!
I expected to be battered and bruised this morning as I managed to fall off the step stool last night. I crashed right into the wall bashing my head, shoulder and arm and was seeing stars for a while. Gormless or what!
There is an assortment of w/e leftovers to finish off today so not much in the way of cooking to do. And a quick whizz over with the vac wouldn't go amiss after my young guests over the weekend.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Thinking of NRA as always. Take care one and all and be safe. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here it looks like we are all set for a nice day.. OH is feeling poorly so is taking the day off so the dogs can stay with him. Off to work for me and I think Monday's clients are my favourites its always a pleasant day.
Cauli cheese for dinner tonight with some sausages and bread and butter if anyone wants it, the cauli is made up and in the fridge so it will just need heating through in the oven.
DW to empty this morning but I will leave that to OH.
Scarlet I hope you feel better soon xxx
Have good days all xxx16 -
Morning
So I’ve had a couple of rotten days as the star guest at my own pity party. Something hit me for six, nasty D+V, headaches and zero mojo. Lets just say you really don’t want D+V when it takes you an age to walk to the loo. Two prime suspects would be either something I ate or the booster vacc. Glad its gone now that’s for sure.
On top of that mum is really starting to worry me now and I’m really starting to worry about the next steps. Result no sleep. Poor me Pour me a drink!!
Food has been avoided until last night when I had some ham and a couple of roast potatoes with a braised leek, lettuce and pea dish recipe courtesy of my hubby James.
Usual manic Monday with washing, kitchen and lots of calls. Plan tonight is haddock, crushed spuds and leeks.
I’ll read back to what Ive missed but I know I missed TA’s birthday so hope it was full of all the usual presents galore and cake
Have a good Monday everyone x

Morning folks.TA - 😱 your fall sounds awful! You'll feel the bashing more tomorrow, keep painkillers at hand.Scarlet - hope you feel better soon. 🌺
It's grey and miserable outside, again, however yesterday morning was really lovely. I checked the weather channel app which said 'rain at 1pm' so I did a white wash after all and got it on the line. The high wind soon dried it all before 1pm when the rain did indeed start with a vengeance. As for my soup...I decided to do roasted red pepper and lentil soup which turned out delicious, it's now in the freezer. Then I roasted the butternut squash intending to make more soup but the blooming thing stayed hard after over an hour in the oven. It's sitting on the counter for now.Last night I went out with friends to a gin tasting. A local has launched a new gin so we were keen to support her. My friends bought a bottle, I have a cupboard full of assorted gins already so didn't but the new one was lovely.Today is new car day. It's a long'ish drive down the peninsula so I'm hoping that the weather brightens up so I can enjoy it. I'll probably stop off for a little look at a small garden centre on the way back.My thoughts are with our poorlies and those looking after family. Happy Monday to all.16 -
Morning everyone,
I arrived back from Cyprus last night. Flight was good - I had the row to myself which was a bonus. Don't think I ever clicked onto Cyprus time (2 hours ahead) so no bother getting up this morning for work!
I have a little holiday washing to do today - took a capsule wardrobe which proved inadequate for the wind, rain, hailstones and even a little flurry of snow yesterday - yes really! DS2's work uniform also needs doing. It looks to be a crisp bright day, so fingers-crossed it can go outside on the line.
Nelski - sorry to hear you've been poorly. Take it easy x
TA - sounds painful x
Gers - happy new car day
Have a good day everyone,

Good Morning chums and Nels I am glad you are feeling better ,nothing makes you feel so fed up as D&V mate. Sun is up and shining and I've just checked the forecast and its dry all the week (fingers crossed ) and sunny as well
Much better than those grey miserable raint skies.
I have book club this morning, then home for a salad lunch and will make some spicy carrot soup this afternoon for this weeks lunches.
My eldest DD and her OH turned up on Saturday, and bless him he brought a new door handle for my sitting room door and fixed it on and DD changed one of my light bulbs that had blown (I have 8'6" high ceilings and only being 5'4" and wobbly joints its not a great idea to be climbing up step ladders) She then went into my garden and reaffixed my pulley washing line (another climbing job ) so my little 'Jobs I can't do myself' list is clear. I went to her house for dinner on Saturday night as well and we had a delicious salmon and herby new potatoes .My son-in-law is a gadget man and his latest baby is his Ninja machine which he cooks lots of delicious stuff on. DD isn't allowed to touch it,and he has discovered (much to her delight after 38 years ) that he likes cooking .
My youngest DDs husband also has cooking as his hobby bless him and cooks all their evening meals and his moroccan lamb is to die for.I was at theirs for dinner yesterday and we had a shoulder of lamb and it really was delicious. I've done virtually no cooking over the weekend at all so this afternoon I must get going again. I have some mince I've got from the freezer and I fancy doing a chilli for a change later as I've not had one for ages.
Apart from that not much to report at the moment Hope you all have a good week and stay safe and keep well

Good morning
Bright and cold here🌞🥶
We arrived back after a bit of a detour due to the M4 being closed in 2 places.
I think I need to get back on the diet wagon today to try and undo some of the damage before I go away again next week.
Some washing and cleaning today and hopefully a walk
I hope you're OK after your fall TA
I'm sorry you've been ill Nelski
Enjoy your new car 🚗 Gers
