Gers - I hope the decimal point is in the wrong place for the diesel price.
Finished off the order for 14 bunny sweet packs and they are being collected tomorrow. Made a Birthday card which Mr F is popping out to post. Mr F is going to get 2 large packs of toilet rolls while he is out - I get my pension today so a new 4 weeks of shopping money.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Sorry, a very late one from me today. My mojo has come back so I've been putting it to good use and getting on with things. I'm not sure what happened over the weekend, I wasn't ill or tired, more like I just couldn't be bothered, although normally I like to be busy. Maybe the engine needed juice!
The weather today has been fine and dry with lots of sunshine, but it's not forecast to stay. Boo.I agree, work absences can be a pain for those left to hold the fort. And it’s usually the same people. I once worked with a lady who took time off sick on a regular basis for dubious reasons, but the one that annoyed me the most was for a boob job (vanity reasons, not medically needed) that I thought she should have booked a holiday for. Glad I’m retired, I don't think I'd be able to hold my tongue nowadays.
This morning I hauled everything out of the kitchen store cupboards and cleaned down the shelves. Then everything went back in, neatly, after being checked off against the inventory. Happily, nothing is out of date, but I did find a few bits that I'm going to try and incorporate into meals over the next couple of weeks. These were things bought when lock down first started and sm shelves were somewhat bare. One of them is couscous that I'm not overly keen on but I've made some up to go on tonight's ham salad. It will not be wasted.
The ys bag of parsnips I got yesterday has been turned into soup, enough for 6 portions, and I've had the BM on to make a fruit loaf. The recipe called for mixed fruit that I don't have so I used sultanas and chopped dried apricots instead.
Tonight I'm starting a new knit with some yarn I bought last year, a new-to-me bamboo/cotton blend in a summery buttermilk colour. The pattern I'm planning to use is a 3/4 length sleeve sweater in a lacy pattern. If it's a bit too revealing I have a couple of cotton camisoles that I can wear underneath it.
Last night I watched Peaky Blinders (enjoyed) and the second episode of the Ipcress File. I quite enjoyed the first episode last weekend but have now lost interest. I remember seeing the original film with Michael Caine many years ago and was equally baffled then, so maybe I set my expectations a bit too high!Careful with that step stool TA, don’t want you having to visit the 'orspital.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better, Nels but sorry you’re having more worries about your DM. Having been in the same position with DD, I’d say accept any (useful) help that’s offered rather than soldiering on by yourself.
Happy new car, Gers. My DS has an automatic (knee problems) and he said it takes a bit of getting used to at first. The gin tasting sounds lovely, what's not to like?
Welcome home Coxy, pity about the weather.
Always nice to have someone cook for you, Jackie. And to have help with those little jobs that we can’t do, for whatever reason.
Good for you, dp1, for sticking to your guns. Not all ailments can be diagnosed over the phone, sometimes face to face has to be done.
Welcome Lady Harriet from Devon. One of my favourite places.
Loving the Motion is Lotion idea, taff. Keep telling yourself that as you battle through the contortions.
Thoughts with the poorlies or worried, take care. X

Gers said:Afternoon - I had a very soggy drive down and back up the peninsula, really nasty weather. Did the car thing and have to say that, despite my reservations, I'm already enjoying it being automatic. It's a bit weird and I had to push my left leg against the side to keep it out of the way.
Let's put it this way, the Mii stops REALLY QUICKLY when you put BOTH feet on the brake as your left foot comes down seeking the clutch that isn't there! *blush*
Only did it once, thankfully, and it was on the private driveway down to Lanhydrock NT where I volunteer, rather than in traffic. Now I'm used to it and have to remember our Qashqai has gears on the odd occasion that I need to drive it.7 -
Mr F only came home with 1 pack of toilet rolls as the price had gone up by 40p. Silly man - should have got the 2 packs that I asked for as the price will only increase.
Baked a jam sponge pudding and a Victoria Sandwich.
Used up the last of my celery dated 6 February.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
