Looks very much like the normal Santander log in on an Android phone.

I get those same phrases on successive screens, but the request for the security number is then overlaid by a pop-up asking for my fingerprint.

I don't input the security number. My fingerprint gets me in.

To enable people to offer help, you  could say what device you are using - whether Android or iPhone, what version, whether you have fingerprint or other security enabled. Are you trying to access the Santander app or just it just pop up on its own? Give us a clue!

The form was  accessible via the Android  navigational button lll , 1 of 3 at the bottom of most Android sreens.

That button takes you back to apps that you've used recently and not closed. For Santander it will take you to the log in screen, it does not allow your banking access to remain open in the background.

  • Close all APPS.

    Uninstall the Santander APP.

    Restart phone.

    Reinstall said APP.

    Try again.

You need to read the first post.
I don't need to read any of this. Goodbye.

I'm a little bit confused also as relevant questions haven't been answered.

Where did this happen, on the app, website or in a text message? Without that information no one can really offer accurate advice.

Sounds like some sort of scam and I would never input the security number on any message or email which appears on my phone. I have a Santander account and never had anything like that. Ignore or delete immediately.

    Santander UK

    Good Evening

    Securing Your Device

    Enter your security number

     - - - - -

    MY MOBILE NUMBER.

Finally. At the bottom there is the FSCS symbol.

This is on my Android mobile fone over 4 web type pages, in total, that open in quick sucession.

It is accessible via the Android navigation button, some times called the Overview button.

I've no idea how, or where, it came from.

    What's going on?

Please do not suggest ringing Santander. Creating a forum post is normally far quicker.

    Thank you to all responders.

If that is really what it says then there probably is some doubt about it. The actual app starts off with Santander UK, then Securing your device, then Good evening and Enter your Registration Number (not security number) both on the same screen with FSCS at the bottom, although as previously described that's overlaid by the fingerprint login on my phone.

@SiliconChip, it IS the 5 digit security number that is asked for.

Just press cancel on the "fingerprint" box and that is what shows underneath.

However, it DOES NOT show any mobile number which the OP describes.

I can read you know! My point is that the words used are Registration Number, not Security number, so if the OP is seeing the word Security then that doesn't align with what the app actually says.
