If your wanting 100%?equities like VLS100 then putting it all in and topping up each time with the FTSE all cap is fine. I’m no expert but you don’t want to overcomplicate things.
If you wanted less that 100% equities add some bonds.

OP already holds VLS100 but has a rather peculiar investment strategy ("I want some smaller funds and some larger funds and some etf's etc etc. so my portfolio has circa 10-12 different funds in the end") that could obviously be met by many products, so, in the absence of any further steer about reasonably specific and meaningful objectives, as requested in earlier posts, this is all essentially just throwing darts when blindfolded....

I have deposited my 4k in VGLS100 today.

I just want to ensure that my entire portfolio is as diverse as it can be.

I understand VGLS100 has underlying allocations across a lot of VGFunds, however, I want to diversify further to maybe some USA Markets, or European Markets or Technology or even Emerging Markets. Hence the question as I do not feel VGLS100 covers these areas.

So the question is always what is similar to VGLS100 out there, but covers other areas that is not already in VGLS100. I would rather have 10k in 5 different funds totalling 50k instead of 50k in VGLS100 covering VG Funds only. I have 20 years before I will be touching the LISA

I really think you need to do some more research if you currently believe VGLS100 does not cover "USA Markets, or European Markets or Technology or even Emerging Markets". Have you reviewed the fund factsheet?

Yes - but for example - Fundsmith Equity and VGLS100 are very very different that's the point I am making

You'll struggle to find holdings in Fundsmith that aren't held by VGLS100. If it is a question of weightings, then it might be easier to start from a fund that is closer to the asset allocation you are trying to achieve, or pick a selection of single region/sector funds in the exact proportion you require.

.and hence my question to you at the start of the thread: what specifically are you looking for that VLS100 doesn't cover?

Have you actually looked at what's covered by the funds included within VLS100?  Clue:
Vanguard FTSE U.K. All Share Index Unit Trust GBP Acc19.6%
Vanguard U.S. Equity Index Fund GBP Acc19.4%
Vanguard FTSE Developed World ex-U.K. Equity Index Fund GBP Acc19.3%
    Vanguard S&P 500 UCITS ETF (USD) Accumulating15.2%
Vanguard Emerging Markets Stock Index Fund GBP Acc8.0%
Vanguard FTSE Developed Europe ex-U.K. Equity Index Fund GBP Acc7.2%
Vanguard FTSE 100 UCITS ETF (GBP) Accumulating4.8%
Vanguard Japan Stock Index Fund GBP Acc3.7%
Vanguard Pacific ex-Japan Stock Index Fund GBP Acc1.9%
Vanguard FTSE 250 UCITS ETF (GBP) Accumulating0.9%

Yes but that is unrelated to your claim/feeling that VLS100 does not cover those markets (see post above) -  US (~50%), Europe (~10%) or even emerging markets (8%). Tech - either you don't think apple, tesla, microsoft, alphabet, facebook are tech or you don't know what the top holdings of VLS100 are.

If you buy a fund that is invested in the US to go alongside VLS100 you will be concentrating, not diversifying, your investments.
