Shame that you couldn't make the low cost NYE event, but backs are very unforgiving in that way. Hope you enjoyed the evening in any case, you had nice plans too.

Morning TMV - Happy New Year! Sounds like your evening yesterday was as quiet and low key as ours, for my money that’s the best sort, although I’m sorry to hear it was because of MrMV’s back playing up.
Didn’t it just rain yesterday too - we were trying to sort out tidying and doing some clearing of stuff on our balcony and while we were able to stay partly undercover poor MrEH had to make several trips round to the bins and got wet enough that he needed a change of clothes when we’d gone back indoors again! Filthy weather!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Happy New Year, wishing you a fabulous 2023.
If you do need to buy a new duvet cover buy it and a duvet in a size suitable for the new bed. Our bedding has to be made from natural fibers along with my pyjamas, much nicer to sleep in with the added benefit of not shedding microplastic.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning all!
It wasn't that much of a shame KC - my initial reaction was not to go anyway - the idea grew on me a bit, but I was quite happy to stay at home. We watched Glass Onion and a terribly cheesy rom com before the fireworks - it was good and we were in bed by 12.30 (having put the washing machine on without a timer for the cheap rate electricity!).
EH, the rain was awful. I'm impressed at you doing anything outside - poor Mr EH! Much brighter and drier today, so I'll head out for a look-see at the allotment in a bit.
BB, that's a good idea to buy the next size in bedding. We already have organic cotton sheets but upgrading out duvet is definitely on the cards - we have an inherited synthetic duvet and it's horrible (and quite old for something that was probably cheap in the first place). Can I ask what filling your duvet has?
Thanks TH!
Well we have, excitement of excitements, made an OP of £2390 this morning, bringing our balance to about £21,000, with this month's payment due out on Tuesday. Mr MV has upgraded his estimate of funds available for an OP in June to £5,800, so there's about £12,000 to find, although some of this will be normal monthly payments.
On Tuesday I'll have a swish round the pots as there's definitely too much in some of them, so that can make its way into the savings account.
No plans for today, maybe we'll go for a walk. Would be open to some socialising if someone suggests something, but otherwise a quiet day planned...
MS things:
* Big fat OP!
*Clicks and HW done
* Had our very disappointing party food leftover from Boxing Day for tea last night, fortunately along with a part baked baguette and some olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which was much nicer.
* Resisted the urge to buy eggs this morning for breakfast, so I haven't spent anything this year!

Some more financial, housekeeping done, removing the Barclaycard from my default payment option on my Apple wallet - now I should be back to 2 CCs at last!
And I'm doing an Olio collection tonight - usual store. It'll either be tiny or massive I feel...Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Thanks Jessy and SH! Bailey’s Babe, thanks - I don’t really want to buy down/feather as a veggie, but not sure about wool. Mr MV has a wool pillow and it compresses a lot and can be quite lumpy. I worry that it would not stay evenly distributed (even within the pockets on a duvet), so it may yet be feather. I had feather before we moved in together and agree that it’s so much nicer!
Olio collection was small but kept a few bits - 12 mini cottage pies for Mr MV in the freezer will do two meals (They are canapé sized!), some sweet chilli sauce and some sweet bits for us and wotsits for Niece. We’re visiting the in-laws at some point today to help MIL with her new SIM card. I need to cut the fabric for those window coverings so I can return her measuring board and stick. Once I’ve done that, the actual making will be easy - I just put off the cutting because I worry about getting it wrong (give me scrap fabric any day!).
My sister has just invited us to hers this afternoon, but not sure of our plans as yet.
Definitely feeling ready for the discipline of a working week now!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
