Morning all,
Currently sitting in the doctor’s waiting room, waiting for joy-of-joys a smear test. What a way to start the New Year! It gets it out of the way at least! (Also seem to be the only one following the ‘a face covering is required’ diktat, which is annoying, but on balance with all that’s going around, I’d rather be wearing it I think!)
Back to work and normality today and it’s much needed. Broke my New Year spending fast this morning as we needed milk. Would have got eggs too but none in stock at our Coop. Riverford order going out tonight too, but a custom box and only what we need - just over minimum spends of £15.
I have work to do, for me and Cambridge, have quotes for a project for one of my clients and need to take two parcels to post office for eBay sales, so it feels like a productive day.
Pizza tonight (dough proving already) to use some mozzarella (If it’s still ok, been in the fridge a while) or Christmas cheeses and the last of the ham for Mr MV. Sauce is homemade from HG tomatoes (more orange than red as it contains lots of yellow tomatoes!).
MS things:
* postage profits from eBay sales (Mr MV has some actual eBay profits too)
* clicks and HW - will be done shortly
* leftover lentil bolognese for lunch (dinner last night set the uber frugal tone for the year!)
* Walked to drs surgery
* Washing machine and heated airer only used overnight on cheap rate electricity
* Out most of yesterday, so very low expensive electricity use
Gratitudes:
* Work
* Nurse was lovely (am back home now)
* Olio jam doughnut for elevenses

Caught up on my work and have done some Cambridge stuff too. Plenty more to keep me busy, but I need a cup of tea first!
Ebay parcels dispatched using RM stamps, so £3.30 directed to savings. 5 PA surveys done too - got a bit lax with these towards the end of last year, mainly because I wasn't at my desk much and these are surveys I tend to do on my laptop (whereas most of the others get done on my phone). Am determined to do better!
Nest won't transfer my pension out without me providing some ID - either the original or a certified copy (so the latter it is to save on postage). Need to get a photocopy of driving licence and then get it certified - a couple of possibilities to do that (teachers or police officers), but none of them people I'll see in the next few days... why is nothing simple?! Turns out I'd have been fine to start the process during the Truss troubles...
MBNA have credited my card with £14.79 (from cashback on spending in the US I imagine). I'll try not to spend it all at once!

Urk, to the smear test necessaries! Also to the pension transfer, Sainsbury mastercard fraudsters mean that I still have nightmares about providing a finance company with certified copies of anything at all. Brrr!2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Back later for proper post but had to share that I won £100 on the premium bonds - the most I’ve ever won at once! 😁Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Thanks for the congratulations - I am rather pleased! I also won on a free bet from a bookie yesterday, so nearly back to payout from them again - those winnings were only a couple of £ but it all helps!
Currently on live chat to book an appointment to see the e-bike I'd like to buy, so progress being made there. Also working on a cheaper way to get it too, which would help.
Have invoiced my clients this morning - nearly forgot, having done all the paying myself and money shuffles at the weekend! In any case, it was a shockingly poor month for self-employment - very low amounts invoiced for. Good job I have Cambridge work this month and it pays weekly - I'll be needing it come the end of the month. Not that I plan to spend very much at all this month (or any month this year, but I do like a good frugal Jan).
Workwise today, I've done some for a client that arrived last night and am awaiting the answer to the quote I gave yesterday. In the meantime, I'm cracking on with a Cambridge project (I stopped while I was waiting for a chat with the bike people, but they don't seem too hot on replying, so will be going back to it!). Things should begin to pick up with my work as we get into the New Year - and there'll be a regular project kicking in at some point too, so hopefully December's paltry amounts won't be repeated.
Mr MV has gone back to the office today, so trying to keep warm and minimise heating use. Not sure yet what lunch will be, but definitely something we already have in.
MS things:
* Olio tonight
* PA surveys - did quite a few yesterday
* Y Live £3 survey done
* £100 win!
* Pizza last night used up last of ham (along with cats' dinners), the mozzarella that was well past its date but absolutely fine, the hm pizza sauce, some stilton (Mr MV's pizza) and spinach from Olio
* Heated airer dried washing on cheap rate overnight with smart plug and automation set up
Gratitudes:
* Bonus money!
* Cambridge work
* It's not raining today
