Hope your mum is doing ok. Worrying all round. Definitely a good idea to have more of a stash in the travel pot just in case. Never good to be worrying about money when there are bigger things to worry about.
I'm pretty sure we both insure the car we're not technically the owner of 😂 I went with a friend to buy one once, back when we only had one between us, and so I owned it, but Mr Cheery had the only insurance policy. Then we bought a second one - he owned it and I had the insurance 😂 Then car 1 died, and was replaced by car 3, which I owned and he had the insurance, and then 2 was replaced by 4, but hmm, I thought I owned that, but I can't own both of them 🤔
Anyway, insurance company didn't seem remotely bothered when I was trying to figure out who owned which or was main driver - their attitude seemed to be that if you're spouses it doesn't matter... Good job really - we don't have 'my car' and 'your car', we have big car and small car. Or, as they're known at the minute, cold car and cosy car (because the heater doesn't work in the bigger one 😂). Fortunately Mr Cheery prefers driving the bigger one (which isn't exactly enormous, it's a Nissan note 😂), and is usually carting more stuff than me, so I get the warm one 😁6 -
I am still the named owner on DS's car because I took out the finance to buy it so it had to be in my name. He is the insurance policy holder for it - not spouse, not living here, but as per Martin's guide (at the time), the main driver should be the person with the insurance policySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Morning all,
Thanks for the good wishes for Mum. Her blood tests came back normal last night so they sent her home and she's gone back this morning for a scan.
Interesting thoughts about car insurance. We might well do the swapping thing Redo! I need to make sure I get written proof of NCD (*adds it to her list*). And Cheery, I can't keep up with who owns what (by which I assume you mean is RK, as ownership is irrelevant)! But interesting that they're not too bothered - suspect it might be different for a more expensive car though. @Suffolk_lass, I thought that the main driver had to be the policyholder too, but that isn't the case - on Meerkats there's an option to say if the PH isn't the MD, and it threw up much the same results in terms of quotes. Obviously would be checking that the policy doc said same, but I can't imagine there'd be an option if it wasn't possible.
I am struggling this week. Tiredness levels have hit a new low and it's not even due to lack of sleep. I am going to get some Floradix either today or tomorrow and hope that this helps (suspect coil and pescatarianism aren't a great combination for me, despite a diet high in beans and spinach). If it doesn't, I will go to the docs, but I'd like to try this first as they'll want to send me for blood tests, which were a nightmare last time.
Today I need to continue with project for main client, potentially send some digital CNY cards for Cambridge work (but waiting on Cambridge boss) and get to PO - two more payments received yesterday and hopefully one more today. Expecting to see Mum at some point - depending on what they find, I imagine she'll call round for a cuppa after her appointment. And pub this evening, if I'm still awake.
MS things:
* VB over payout limit (£16), so that'll come next month
* DFS last night, so will have earned a bit from the battery
* A couple of small platform jobs yesterday - edging closer to payout this month, although I've only got until the cut-off on Tuesday
Gratitudes:
* Mr MV got up and fed the cats this morning - normally my job, I really appreciated not having to rush this morning
* Mum's blood tests OK; although a bit apprehensive about what they might find
* Payments from people for friend's Guiding stuff - I really want it out of my house!

If you have had any antibiotics, in France they always prescribe bioacidophilus as a way of restoring gut health and reduce the tiredness that can followSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I've not had any antibiotics in a long time SL. I am fairly happy with gut bacteria - I have yoghurt, hm kefir and occasional hm sauerkraut and, in theory, the vitamins I take have live bacteria too, although I'm not convinced of their benefits (as per Tim Spector's research). Suspect I'm low on iron. Interesting that they're more into restoring gut health in France post-antibiotic use though.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

That's interesting - my last lot of antibiotics they gave me a canastan prescription at the same time, save me asking for one later 🙄😂6

Indeed, I was surprised! I didn't ask them too, I just said "I suppose I'll get thrush now 🙄" as I walked out of the door as a throwaway comment, and they offered a prescription. But yes, I do have considerable form!6

Well at least they were listening
Mum has been discharged - they couldn't find anything. She's been told to go back if she has any more issues - but she says the pain has gone now, so that's good. We've had a nice cup of tea and a biscuit (I baked yesterday evening - felt in need of chocolate and prefer to stretch it by putting it in biscuits, given we only buy Tony's).
I'm now halfway through big thing for main client, so feeling considerably more positive. It also looks like I won't have to deal with the CNY cards, which is frankly a relief - it's fiddly, time-consuming and I'd rather be getting on with my work. Oh, and the last expected payment has come through for friend's stuff (there are others, but I've not heard anything from these people, despite chasing, so doubt they'll actually pay up), so I've got three parcels to send and that will substantially tidy my dining room.
Did a batch of PA surveys this morning - now at £40 once all cleared. £50 is looking very doable this month, which is great.

Phew - so good to hear Mom has been discharged!
