It is indeed chilly Vix!
OH is moaning that he thinks the heating should go on & I'm reminding him that at 17'C in the house, it is as warm as a pleasant spring day! His wool sweater is hanging over the back of the chair instead of being on. On the other hand, I've got on a thin thermal, a long-sleeved t-shirt, a long-line hoodie, cosy socks & have a warmed wheat-bag in my lap 🤣🤣🤣 - Our thermostat is set to 17, so it would not come on anyway. I sense a bargaining session in the works as to just when it's cold enough to flick the switch!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Ours is set to 17 and has triggered a couple of times this morning. But we do both have jumpers on - I refrained from thermals as I’m going to be out and about and therefore warmer, but thick socks have gone on over normal ones. I think it’s made worse by how we’ve suddenly gone from very warm temps to very cold ones. There was a frost this morning… not sure how my oca will be at the allotment - instructions say the tubers don’t start to form until November and to leave them for a week after the first frost before harvesting… Hoping they are still ok for a bit!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Our thermostat was at 11 this morning when I got up 🙄 so I confess I put the central heating on (only to 15 though) as well as temporarily the electric heater in my study. I also have a fleecy poncho and a hot water bottle on my lap 😂😂 Definite change to last week! 😱4

Hope it gets fixed soon! I have a feeling it may be a good long while before it gets warmer.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! SL, hope you manage to get it fixed soon. When does the Aga go on and does that help with warming the house?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Coo! My thermostat died last year, so my heating is just ... off ... though I put it on for a bit this morning to check it *would* go on. Seems fine, though I really need to bleed the radiators, and then we'll see.2023: the year I get to buy a car5

😝 @rtandon27!
Well I’ve had a very productive afternoon at the allotment. Sprouting broccoli in at last (6 plants, the other 6 left on friends’ shed step - with forewarning, but I’d better text him). Hoops cut and erected from the water pipe and netting over. Also replaced the rather dubious makeshift hoops I’d made over my red cabbage and romanesco. I’m hoping this will encourage both to start thinking about forming hearts as there’s not been much of that yet. It’s looking fairly tidy down there at the moment, which I’m feeling rather smug about.
Currently sitting on the patio enjoying a cup of lemon verbena tea with garden fairy lights on and tea lights lit (fairy lights come on at dusk, but I’ve put them on specially; never, ever remember the tea lights though!). Invited Mr MV to join me, but he says it’s too cold 😂
I’ll have to go in shortly as the cats’ chicken will need taking out of the oven and dealing with. We had leftover pizza for lunch, so a supper of eggs and beans on toast, which won’t take long.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
