Whoops, I didn’t know that SL. Haven’t picked before and it’s not something I have inherited knowledge of… Read something the other day that said it was the right time though- made no mention of frost. Ok, I will freeze them!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

The patio is finally finished!! 🥳 While Mr MV was laying the final slabs, I pulled out the tomatoes and prepped my chillis and peppers for overwintering indoors (quite an involved process apparently and now they are just stubby stumps 🤷🏼♀️). They would have died if I hadn’t done anything, so will see what happens. Also baked bread and made some sauerkraut.Pizza from the Coop for dinner - we needed quick and easy. While Mr MV is having a bath after dinner, I’ll get some yoghurt going. It’s apparently quite warm in the house still, but I am freezing, so hanging out in the kitchen where the oven will have been on, sounds like a good idea!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks ladies!
Just for you, Cheery, and I’ll take it down in the morning… apologies for weird lack of sky - just makes it slightly less recognisable! I should add that most of the slabs have been relaid and we’ve only extended it a bit - but that extra bit has made all the difference. It’s nothing fancy, but it works for our little garden.

That looks great. I wonder if you have considered a vertical herb garden on your fence? I would be looking for a pallet to hang, and you can use little pots or plant into the recesses, depending on the pallet...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

That's great! It looks spacious enough to be really comfortable to sit in, and I love that you managed to get all the plantpots in there right away.2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Morning all,
Thanks - we're really pleased with it. It's actually only one slab wider in some places than it used to be, but it has made it a much more usable space for sitting in *and* having pots/greenhouse there. The picnic bench (FBMP) is temporary - it's going in the front garden (which is large and only on a footpath), but it'll stay for the winter now (until we've sorted the front space out for it). We might well add something to the fence SL, although I've got a huge metal tripod (that's not the right word, but brain has gone blank) which will sit in the corner - probably with cukes on it, although I'm still undecided. Until now though, there definitely wasn't space - it's amazing how uncluttered it now looks!
Work is relatively quiet today. I've done a little bit for a US client and have a Cambridge meeting, but intend to get out and use the car this afternoon to whizz round a few places. I need to get cat chicken (Costco) and will pop to M&S for a few bits of food as I've got vouchers to use there. I must find a present for Dad's fiancee as it's her birthday today... oh and post some bits too. Then this afternoon I *must* get to the allotment and plant the broccoli, which didn't happen yesterday as we were busy doing the garden. In Cambridge tomorrow and out for the day with ex-Brownie friends on Weds, so I need to get jobs done today.
MS things:
* Clicks and HW done - small wins on HW today, which was nice.
* PA survey
* Amex bill paid from Cambridge money
Gratitudes:
* Gorgeous, sunny weekend - gave us a chance to enjoy the patio after we finished it!
* Lovely committee meeting for Trefoil Guild group - hilarious watching old ladies getting to grips with Zoom!
* Sunshine today too! Although it's proper chilly and I've found a jumper for the first time this autumn
Have a good day all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
