Oh well at least you have looked into the benefits side of things, and i know what you mean about transport being very limiting jobs wise.

I hope you don't think i was being mean by pointing these things out.

Stay positive, you'll get thru this! Will read with interest.
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)
  • Hey Maz, course I don't think your being mean! You're totally right, if he finds another job things won't be so bad and I know he will do his best.

In fact there is a huge Tesco down the road so we will go and see if they have any jobs going.. if they have part time jobs I might even apply.

I'm just a huge pessimist and I like to be prepared for the worst case scenario, That's why I desperately want to get the £750 together. That way there is less pressure on him to get a job and I'll be less stressed about being able to pay the bills.

Again thanks to you all for your help and advice :T

  • Made £27 profit today on a DVD box set. Have to put that in my signature now I only need another £723.

If only I could get the stupid computer sold I would nearly have enough. I think if I don't get it sold on Amazon by next week I will put it in one of those shops where they take a cut of the selling price.

  • :j :j :j :j

Just sold the computer! Will have made about £570 profit after postage. Not sure what the best way to post a laptop computer is though? I think Royal Mail can probably do it.

That brings me to £600 so I only need to come up with another £150 to make it at the end of the month. :j :j :j :j

Am also about to sign up to do Mystery Shopping so hopefully I get lucky.

On the down side I have the flu and I feel terrible.

  • With a little luck I think I might be able to pay all the bills on 1 Feb. :D

    My account is now at:
    -£930
+£600 (Amazon sale of computer and DVD)
+£1100 (wages payed on 25th Jan usually is £1360 but I have resigned and taken too much holiday so these extra 5 days are being deducted from this month's wages I think)
    = £770

    Then I need to pay:
-£772 (to joint account for all bills and mortgage)
    -£365 (loan)
    -£38 (car insurance)
    -£60 (credit card)
-£93 (next month's car insurance and cancellation fee)
    =1328

So I will have -558 on my account and I have an overdraft of £1000. So Feb should be okay now.

Unless disaster strikes and my car falls apart or something like that. That's always what happens. All the problems get sorted out and then new ones come along and mess everything up.

March is the next problem though. I have offered to stay on a few days longer at work so this will get me a little extra. Still after being paid I have calculated that I will be short by £152. So I will need to see that our furniture gets sold before the end of Feb. And of course the chance of OH having gotten some work by then is quite good.

We will have to wait and see what happens I suppose ;)
