Unmarried Uncle, no children who inherits if he doesn't make a will?

Encourage him to send it to the His Majesty's Courts and Tribunal Services, who store it for £20. And to tell his executors.
Yes, it take them a bit longer to return it than the fastest solicitor, but you're not scrabbling round if the solicitor's firm has closed, been taken over etc.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Then if he remains resistant we'll tell him how he can store it for £20.1 -

DH was on the brink of fetching it up with him again due to reading online news about a relative who would inherit due to intestacy frequently being in and and out of prison. Uncle then said he'd made one, which is fab, but if he doesn't tell anyone which solicitor he's used to make it, how would any of us know when the time comes where to search for it? In these circs how do you know someone has made a will rather than died without one?1
