    Hi all..

I have finally received my N180 form. The form has changed in June so even the copy I received from their solicitor in April isn't thet same one I've got to send back.

What am I replying for Suitability for determination without a hearing question? I'm guessing this is a NO?

Is there anything more I have to do at this stage other than send this form back and to their solicitors? Should I send it by email or recorded delivery?

There is a thread started by Grizebeck that discusses the new question on the N180 form.
Previously you could just say you didn't want a hearing on papers, but now I believe you have to give a reason why not.

The thread mentioned above will help you with that, but the main points are that as a LiP you will be disadvantaged against a legally qualified solicitor or barrister, and you will lose the opportunity to question them and the claimant so you believe you will not get a fair hearing unless it is face to face in person or by 'phone/video conference.

This comment from regular KeithP on another thread will help you find Grizebeck's thread.

Sticking "new question" n180 in the forum's search facility reveals several threads discussing this.

Here is just one of those threads...

I'm going round in circles trying to find the thread. Anything I've seen is too long to paste into the box for the reason of selecting NO.

    will this do?

It seems to disproportionately give an advantage to a legally represented party. I wish to question the Claimant about their evidence at a hearing in person and to expose omissions and any misleading or incorrect evidence or assertions.

I received confirmation that it will be sent to my local country Court at St Helen's.

I requested SAR from the company and they requested ID, proof of address and proof I was the registered keeper on the vehicle at the time. So I had to contact DVLA and they have sent me a letter to confirm I owned the car. I'm annoyed thinking about it because they know I was the keeper of the car, it's how they got my details. Should I send them this letter from the DVLA? I feel uneasy about it. I expect a court date very soon

You only need to send non-photo proof of your ID such as a copy of the V5c, or a redacted utility bill, redacted card or bank statement, letter of/before claim, claim form with an SAR.

You do not need to prove you were the keeper or owner (the DVLA don't hold owner info anyway) to send a SAR.

This is what they asked me for before I could apply for it. So I contacted the DVLA and now I have a letter from the DVLA to say I was the keeper.

If you supplied valid non-photo proof of ID with an SAR and they have refused to supply your information, report them to the ICO.
