Just to conclude this thread and to help anyone else. I received an email from them on the 21st of October to say they were discontinuing court proceedings. So thankful for the support and that it is over.1

Was the solicitor DCBLegal?
Which PPC? Group Nexus?
Or was it ParkingEye?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
