parking eye Judgement for Claimant (in default)

Hello folks,

Just received this notice.   Date 1st March.  I just want to pay it to make it go away.  Originally started filling in the form on the government website  to ask for the judgement to be set aside.  I just don't like all the consequences if not accepted.  So I just want to pay the money to make it go away.  But will that be the end of it.  Especially if I do not do anything but pay the fine.  How do I pay ?  I rang the County Court  Business Centre but was too late for them to take payment today.  On the How to Pay section is says 'payments must be made to the persons named at the address for payment'. No telephone number given.  So can I pay the County Court Business Centre or do I have to  contact Parking Eye ?

Unfortunately, I didn't take all this seriously at first.  We parked at a hotel and realised we were meant to give them our reg.  have given it to them now, but fill it has escalated too far.

Worried Sick !!

Were you aware of the court claim against you and failed to defend it?

I don't think you can pay the court - you need to pay the Claimant (Parking Eye) or whichever solicitor they were using.

You have the claim ref number - email PE for confirmation. (But call the CCBC / court during working hours - 9 to 4 - to confirm the amount, if it isn't on the order. If it is on the order, how much are you ordered to pay?)

Umkomaas,  I have had all the letters, yes I didn't reply.  To be honest I thought they were just the usual letters that you get sent and don't have to take any notice of.  Things have changed a lot since my son was getting parking tickets, that you got away with paying.  I received the Claim form ,dated 31 Jan 2022.  Then the judgement 01 Mar 2022

Jenni D, yes I think you are right. Have to pay PE.  I have to pay the Claimant £207.  How do you pay, can you pay over the phone ?  I don't have the PE email address.  Tomorrow I will look into this further and definitely speak with the CCBC

Thank you both for your time and comments.

    Try this:

If you pay the judgement in full within a month, there will be no CCJ recorded. If you pay it in full after a month, even if you have part paid beforehand, CCJ will be recorded but marked as satisfied.

The advice to ignore a PCN has not been given here since the law changed in 2012.

You could apply fro a set-aside, but I am not sure upon what grounds you could apply.

The hotel should have been asked to cancel this at the earliest opportunity. They may still be willing to state they would have instructed ParkingEye to cancel, which may help you with a set aside, but there is no guarantee.

Worlds collide, stars explode, and laws change, so it is always a good idea to check if anything has changed in the future.

    Thank you Fruitcake.

I have today paid, Parking Eye, in full, automated phone payment.  My judgement is dated 1st March and I paid on the 4th March.  So is this all I have to do ?  Is there any need to contact the CCBC.  Which I had tried to speak with today, but hung on for at least 20 mins.  Thought instead I would just pay  Parking Eye.

I had contacted he hotel, albeit too late, who automatically sent something to parking eye.  Feel this was all too late.  I could explain to CCBC but too worried that ill end up with a ccj.

So with my actions today I am hoping this will all go away.

Will I receive anything in writing, to confirm that its sorted.

Did you get a payment reference? And/or have you had a confirmation email?

Perhaps contact the CCBC to inform them that the judgment has been paid?

    Hi Jenni_D

I did get a Bank Ref. number, I paid on an automated system, direct to Parking Eye.  It gave me the bank ref. number.
I have tried three times to ring CCBC, hanging on for up to twenty minutes.  The money has left my bank.

The wording that worries me on the judgement for claimant is
"If you pay in full within one month, you can ask the court to cancel the entry on the Register, you will also need to give the court proof of payment.  There is no fee to do this.  "

If I had paid when I was sent the Claim Form it states - payments must be made to the person named at the address for payment box quoting any references and the court case number. - This is who I paid on the automated phone system and where I had got the phone number from.  Using this system it would only allow me to quote the parking charge reference.  Not the other references.

    Probably not done this correctly.

I think you have as long as you paid the right amount and quoted the PCN number.

Why not email ParkingEye and ask if you need to do anything else, and tell them that payment ref xxxxxx for PCN xxxxxx/xxxxxx related to claim number xxxxxxxx and you want to be sure they will tell the court that the judgment has been paid within days.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
