The new CoP is not in force yet, but it's intent is quite clear, so you should state what the government's intent is with regards typos.
If the PPC was a reasonable company, they would already be using technology that already exists to have prevented your situation from happening in the first place.
Will Hurley, the head of the IPC, stated at an oral committee government hearing that the aim of his members was 100% compliance. Having typo-proof systems in place would be a step towards that. The only reason a company wouldn't install it is because compliance would mean reduced profits for the PPC.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Hello, I was about to submit my appeal this morning but they have this mandatory field for reason. Will selecting one of these imply I was the driver due to the tense they are using?

Appeal now submitted. Will keep this thread updated with progress.
Thanks ot everyone for your help.0 -
So I have already received my appeal response via email from iPark and surprise, surprise they are not cancelling the PCN.
I will copy the response below, any help and advice on next steps is appreciated. It sounds like it is not worth appealing to the IAS but should I anyway to follow process?Thank you for your appeal received on 09/03/2022 regarding the above detailed Parking Charge Notice (PCN).We have reviewed the case and considered the comments that you have made. This appeal has been consideredin conjunction with the evidence gathered and our records show that the PCN was correctly issued as yourvehicle was parked in breach of the Terms and Conditions of Parking.
You have stated that you are unwilling to name or unsure who was the driver of the vehicle at the time of theevent.
Unless the full driver details are provided the charge will be pursued against yourself under the assumption youwere the driver at the time
The location where the vehicle was parked is private land and for use by paying customers. It is the driversresponsibility to ensure that the correct vehicle registration number (VRN) and site code is entered in theelectronic system using the relevant 'on-line', 'App' pre-pay service or Pay & Display machine.
Prior to leaving the car park the driver is responsible for ensuring that the VRN and site code has beensuccessfully recorded on the electronic system or machine.
We are therefore unable to cancel the PCN as it was issued correctly. We have now extended the discountedpayment period by 14 days to allow you time to pay the discounted settlement amount. Please now makepayment of £60 to reach us by 24/03/2022 or £100 to reach us by 07/04/2022. We must advise you that once thediscounted settlement rate passes it will not be offered again.
Payment
Payments can be made to the Creditor by using one of the following methods:Online at: www.iparkservices.co.uk
By Debit / Credit card (Delta, Switch, Mastercard or Visa) by calling 0330 088 7830

If you believe this decision is incorrect, you are entitled to appeal to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS). Inorder to appeal the IAS will need your parking charge number (PCN), your vehicle registration and the date theparking charge was originally issued. Appeals must be submitted to the IAS within 21 days of the date of thisletter.
Please note if you make an appeal to the IAS then the discounted rate is no longer available. The IndependentAppeals Service (www.theias.org) provides an Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme (ADR) for disputes of thistype. As you have complied with our internal appeals procedure you may use, and we will engage with the IASStandard Appeals Service providing you lodge an appeal to them within 21 days of the date of this rejection.
If the parking charge remains unpaid, we may seek to recover the monies owed to us via our Debt Recoveryprocedures and may proceed with County Court action against you.
I Park Services Limited will not enter further correspondence unless through the IAS appeal system details above.
I Park Services Limited can only address the factual issues of where and how you parked. We will not enter intodiscussions about the legality of parking on private land or of the landowners right to impose parking conditions ontheir property. Unless the full driver details are provided the charge will be pursued against yourself under the assumption you were the driver at the time....which the new statutory Code of Practice from the DLUHC states, is not allowed.
Try an IAS appeal.
A 'Kangaroo court' with almost no chance of the assessor agreeing with a consumer victim, but 20% of cases are dropped by operators to save money, in cases where they should have cancelled and they know their signs are crap.
So we say give it a go with lots of evidence. No template. In your own words, with evidence attached.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you, I will try the IAS route. Apart from my screenshot of the money paid for the wrong location what other evidence should I include?Coupon-mad said:

The new Code stuff, as I said above.
Plus the POFA if it's a non-POFA PCN (which the NEWBIES thread already explains how to spot).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
