Appeal and show the keying error (screenshot it) and ask for the parking firm to honour the keying error policy of the DLUHC under the new Code of Practice:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/private-parking-code-of-practice
Don't just use the template appeal verbatim from the NEWBIES thread as you need to add stuff about the keying error, but without implying who the driver was. Easy enough to word as 'we did this' or 'the driver made a keying error' (not 'I').
Was the Doncaster car park the same parking firm? If not, then they have lost out and maybe you could offer £20 to settle the matter.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

It is not a fine.
Park Services are an IPC member.
Complain to the landowner and your MP.
If a cancellation is not forthcoming, I suggest you appeal using the template in blue text from the NEWBIES sticky Announcement. Send it unaltered from The Keeper, except, add a one liner that payment was paid for, but due to a fault with the payment system, it allowed payment for an incorrect location number.

Before I submit my appeal I just wanted to check - in the NTK letter they have already included photos of my car entering and leaving the car park - assuming therefore I should remove that section alongside adding in that 'the driver' made a keying error?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

Thank you all.
How does this sound for the appeal:I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner.
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.
If the allegation concerns a PDT machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of payments made - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN, because your Notice does not explain it.
If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner. The driver made a keying error when entering the code for the car park which due to a lack of control on your system was allowed to take place. You can see from the attached screenshot that parking was paid for but at another location and hence I ask you to honour the keying error policy of the DLUHC under the new Code of Practice:

How do you know the driver made an error?
You could say the driver might have made a keying error, and that the government dept for levelling up has stated charges should not be issued, or should be cancelled in those circumstances.
You definitely should state that there must be something wrong with the system if it accepts payment for an incorrect location code.
