EXPEDIA - the hell of dealing with them - any ideas?

Made the mistake of booking a flight with Expedia.
Made a spelling mistake, called them to correct it, that's when things went wrong.
Been calling for 3 weeks, called 9 times, spent hours and hours and hours talking, no success.
They simply WILL NOT change the name.

Do I appeal to ABTA, is there somewhere else I can contact?
All I have is a number which goes to India, usually someone at home.

Thanks

It depends on the airline whether they will allow a name change - this explained in Expedia’s T& Cs https://www.expedia.com/customersupport/name-form

It is allowed, they just will not do it.
Where do I go from here?

Call them for the 10th time?

Hand you submitted the form they ask for?

Is it just a few letters of the name that have been transposed, or a completely different name?

e.g.  Dave, Davdi rather than not David.

Or did you book as David Smith when you are David Jones?

    Which airline is this for?

There appears to be no point in contacting ABTA as they are not members. I must admit I lost the will to live dealing with their Indian call centre, it just goes around in circles. In total, I think I spent 5 hours on the phone with no result at all......

Thanks for the info, I did not know they were not with ABTA.

It was just a small mistake, the middle name had one too many letters.
I spent about 20 hours on the phone to people abroad who said 'Don't worry this will definitely be fixed', whereupon nothing happened.
Submitted the form, emailed and did everything right, for nothing to happen.

I could have spent more money and gone with a UK based agency, and had this problem fixed in 5 minutes.

Sometimes it does not pay to be save a little money!

It may be worth looking at the Holiday Forum on tripadvisor.
Type Expedia into the small search box at the start of the threads to bring up lots of threads.
Scan through the most recent to see if there is a means to do resolve this.
Something to do while you're waiting on the phone :-)

have you checked that the airline will worry about the middle name - a lot don't?

Try calling the airline direct & explain the issue.

    Thanks Mark
