I must admit, I find the Swarfega idea a novel approach. I'm not saying it won't work - the original Swarfega is more for getting rid of oil and grease, though I know they do make a "paint-remover" version these days.As to where to buy it - pretty much anywhere. Online, Halfords, B&Q, Screwfix, Wickes, most hardware shops........ The original stuff is one of these things that's been used for donkeys years, and is still used as it works so well.1

We always keep a tub of it under the kitchen sink, used mostly if I get grease or food stains on shirts. Just dab a little bit on with a old toothbrush before putting in machine. Unfortunately does not work if garment has been washed and stain set.Ebe_Scrooge said:I must admit, I find the Swarfega idea a novel approach. You should be able to get vinyl fitted for under £100, or you can buy 300x300 self adhesive vinyl tiles and fit them yourself .A thankyou is payment enough .1

I'm not sure it'll work on dry paint. I've just put some on some recently spilt oil based gloss. I'll report back.Op If you try white spirits wet folded kitchen roll to make multiple thickness then leave it lightly weighted on the paint. This will give it time to soak in.Op, do you know if it was oil or water based gloss?

Good luck, B&Q offers are rarely in stock. I put Swarfega on some oil based gloss spilt about a week ago, its made no difference.Swarfega works well removing oil based paint from your hands, as you dunno if your was oil or water based I dunno how effective white spirits would be on it.

If a painter has damaged it how are you seeking recovery of your loss?SUPERGIRL2020 said:I dunno the painter was painting my skirting and door frames with white gloss.Swarfega is offer atm in B&Q £1 for a 250ml tub bargain
It may be that you wanted to replace the floor covering anyway but if you have paid someone to paint your bathroom and they have left it in that mess how have you challenged them?Your life is too short to be unhappy 5 days a week in exchange for 2 days of freedom!0 -
Well that was my handy work I tried to paint before I got painter in and lets face facts it was an epic fail 🤣BikingBud said:
