Bathroom Floor Lino
SUPERGIRL2020
Just had my bathroom walls painted and theirs paint all over my Lino. I want to buy some new Lino anyway as its dated been down over 10 years and I hate the colour
I can't afford to buy any atm and have it fitted so I was wondering how else could I update it on the cheap?

What paint is it - gloss or emulsion? If it's emulsion it'll come off with some warm soapy water and plenty of elbow grease. But if you want to replace it, are you up to fitting it yourself (thereby saving the cost of fitting?) For a small space like that, lino is not difficult to fit - as long as you take your time and follow the old adage of "Measure twice (or 3 or 4 or 5 times!!), cut once".1

Mmm...maybe sandpaper ( as it's gloss & harder to remove ) and then white spirit on on abrasive sponge perhaps .Looking at it again , maybe sandpaper may be too much . I'd try the white spirit and sponge first ..
just a tip , but when you replace lino try to get vinyl flooring instead . Not much more in terms of cost and it would look and feel much better and is more durable etc.1 -
Get a tub of swarfega and a 2" paintbrush, brush well in and leave for a while then wash off with warm soapy water, may take two or three go's to bring up to acceptable standard.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke1

Radical thought, but as there's paint there already (and you hate the floor colour) could you not just paint the rest of the floor? Work towards the door so you don't trap yourself in a corner.
....I'm sure an expert will be along in a minute to explain why this is a bad idea 😄"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein1 -
Most paints are water based these days so some hot water, a pan scourer (white not green) and some elbow grease should shift it. White spirit will help for stubborn bits.
As for replacint the floor. To simplify it, try and remove the old stuff in one piece if you can and use it as a template for cutting your new piece. For a small area like that, try your local shops and they should have offcuts that will fit.1 -
