Thank you all. We havent heard anything yet.  If we havent by tomorrow I will ring them on the way to my BiL. I hope we get him as I have bought him a quilt this morning ( much cheaper than dog beds and work well in a plastic bed) and a couple of cuddly toys with no eyes from the charity shop. The rescue said they havent seen him playing with toys but we thought a couple of cuddlies might be comforting to him in a new place. We still have the toys from the other dogs so he will have a selection.
Mr L is so excited he is getting unbearable so I hope it doesnt all go wrong as he will be devastated.

I have to go and make mince pies now to take with me tomorrow as my friend and I are meeting at the station again hopefully. I just hope the trains run better this time.

Oh I am keeping everything crossed for you. As I said I love border collies and they are very easy to train so hopefully you will soon get the lead pulling under control. The livestock issue will need working on. I think they are hard wired to herd. I walk my DDs BC several times a week to give her more exercise and she tries to herd everything from people to other dogs but I do have to say I keep her on the lead near livestock.

Hope to hear you have him with you soon and you are both happy.

Oh how lovely that your new dog has arrived! I think rescue animals 'go backwards' for a little while when they start all over again with a new home/family. I know Ash did....the cat rescue warned us he would but they soon start to familiarise themselves. I think part of them feeling secure/behaving well is getting to 'know the drill'. I know I'm a cat girl & never owned dogs, but I'm sure dogs are similar & benefit from a consistent routine. Look forward to hearing how he gets on.

I am delighted for you and Mr LH, and of course for your new dog!  Our Welsh sheep dog - totally unsocialised and desperately nervous took about a year to settle.  He would make for the muddiest fields he could find and run for miles until poor Mr FB finally caught up with him!  So worth it though, from hiding from everybody he is the most wonderful, obedient lad now, if a little barky when people come to the door.  Part of the joys of sheepdogs though.  If you need any help with Welsh commands, let me know!  xxxxxx
