Can they do this?
Is this a deal worth taking considering prices are likely to rise again in October?Kwh rates identical to April 2022 energy capped rates + additional £100+ per year standing charges dual fuel1 year fix available to existing customers, rates are identical to April 2022 energy capped rates thus would gain more if energy cap rises as expected October 2022
It is on currently available tariff list, customers have been asking to change to it by phone/twitter/facebook message, they willl set change of tariff date to 1 April if asked to.

Had a friend just be told by twitter DM they can't forward date the switch to the 1st April as he's not on a fixed tariff at the moment... sounds like it depends who you get to talk too, or they've fixed a policy now so many people are jumping on it.0

I've been offered V11 for one or two years. It's a 66% increase on what we're paying now. Then they're offering to lock in for up to two years at no higher a rate. But really, no higher than 66%, do we really think we're expecting it to be worse come October? half the UK wouldn't be able to switch their heating on at all? We have just about finished our energy improvements but it's still a single brick, Edwardian house however much insulation and double glazing we put in.0

Whilst the very poorest may genuinely feel they can't afford heating and will need more help if prices keep going up, I honestly think far more may need to reconsider how much they truly need to heat their homes, and reassess other priorities.0 -
I took out the next 2 year fixed renewal V18 this morning with Eon. I was lucky they agreed to start it from 29/4/22 the date my existing tariff ends. I've taken a calculated risk and decided that the extra £95 a year in standing charge will be worth it if the electricity and gas prices rocket in October. The adviser told me there are no exit fees and I can change when I like if I choose to do so. I saw prices this morning quoting 10p and 13p for a kWh of gas that frightened the pants off me. 7p is bad enough but much more palatable than what it could be. On my current deal gas is 3.02 p.... it's scary 😕0

My online quote for the eon v18 two-year fixed, didn't include the 5% DD discount, which the 1 year did. The online quote states that if you pay by DD, you will see a reduction in your unit rate and standing charge.
