Yes, bog standard 'extortion' (Government's word), and you know the +£70 is questionable because that's fully done to death in the template defence.
OK so do the AOS as the pictorial guide in the NEWBIES thread tells you. No point delaying that because it buys you a couple of weeks more to do your defence. With a Claim Issue Date of 1st July, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service now, you have until 4pm on 3rd August to file your Defence.
Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To find our Template Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Do not try to 'Start Defence' via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Leave that alone! Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'. Defence and the subsequent N180 form (see NEWBIES thread) is done by email.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So if I do the AoS to give me more time, will I then be able to decide if I should submit a part admission?Thanks0

will I then be able to decide if I should submit a part admission? What are you 'part admitting'?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
