Only a small percentage of vehicles on the road cannot use E10 fuel and the loss in economy is actually pretty small and less than the cost of the difference to E5 and it is better for the planet (be it a very small one).

Where is the massive con to the public?

Those the can use E10 get worse performance and MPG.  Why are journalists and campaigners not all over this.
My car still drives the same & returns the same MPG now as the same time last year.

You are forgetting that E10 has been used in Europe, USA & many other countries for years before we did. So no point in the media wasting their time over a non story.. But hang on, that's never stopped then publishing a load of made up rubbish before 🤣

From what I can see around 700,000 cars can't use E10 and E10 gives about 3% less MPG.

May not be big in the overall scheme of things but just adds to the annoying picture as the prices in big letters at the pumps are for E10 and diesel.

The website for comparing prices sent me on a misleading journey as even though I filtered on E5, it was nothing like the price when I actually got there.  Just a case of many niggling things aligning to really annoy me, hence my rant.

Most of petrolprices dotcom's prices are unverified and are submitted by other issues.  I don't trust anything older than the same day, especially in the light of the volatile nature of the market at the moment.

Remember to factor in the journey to the petrol station. There's no point spending £1 to save 50p.

I normally just fill up at whatever station I'm driving past.

Indeed.  Sometimes the price will affect my timing of a journey I am making.

Like the way the site says save £200+ on your fuel costs.I have yet to find a cheaper petrol station local to me. But can find plenty that charge more. Yet the same people that pull into the more expensive one's drive right passed the cheap (Supermarket) ones..

£1.57 for E10 fuel yesterday @ Morrisions. 200 yds down the road add on another 10p a ltr....

Can't see the point of a APP that you can not access while driving.. Just use your eyes & look for supermarkets.

In some areas, supermarkets are the most expensive.  In Bridgend in south wales, a Murco is at 167.9 for diesel while all the supermarkets are on 172.9.  You don't have to use the app while driving - you can plan when you are going to fill up in advance before get behind the wheel.

ASDA (the only supermarket in my town) where I used to fill up does not do E5 and the big petrol station signs don't show the price of E5.  Hence why I was using the website before I set off to compare prices only to find the price when I got there was 22p more expensive per litre.  Not only that but the website would not let me post an update of the correct price.  Very disappointing experience all round.    Edit - Apparently the App does let you update prices but not the website at present.  But unless the price has been confirmed very recently it is not much use.

The more people that use it and update it, the more accurate it will remain.

They do need to update the website to allow updates though, not just have to do it on the app.

I'm happy to use it and update it.  It was accurate for the three stations across the route i took on friday
