Today I have paid £50 into my new monzo pot of paying off the overdraft... Because Santander won't let me reduce it by £50 online for some reason so I have now made a plan to pay off £1000 by the 8th April using bank pay and a bit of my actual pay... So that'll cut my overdraft in half.
Then the rest of April's bank pay (around £450) I plan to use for Fluid (current balance is £624)
It feels good to be able to pay it off but also feels far away 😂 I know that sounds silly but it just can't be gone quick enough!
13 weeks til the end of my CCJ... Should I pay it off before it ends or just keep paying £50 a month? I don't want it to affect our mortgage in any way! Why is everything such a juggle?!Life is too short not to love what you do.1 -
Busy 48 hours with 2 long day shifts and a meeting after work means I'm knackered! Yesterday was a no spend day though so that was good 😊
Today I got paid, not what I should have been paid for my bank shifts but I think my code wasn't put in place before the payment date so I think maybe that was why so I 'should' get the excess next Friday.
That said I transferred £100 to my overdraft pot so that's now at £150. I think if I can get it to £500 on the 28th I'll pop into Santander and ask them to reduce my overdraft by £500 if they won't let me do it online.
I really need to stop overspending on my card though, it's getting a bit much! Today I spent on it for treats after swimming and booking soft play for next week 🙃
Anyway hope you all have had a lovely sunny Friday and a nice weekend planned ❤️Life is too short not to love what you do.1 -
Checked my Credit Karma this morning and my default is no longer on my file 🙌🙌
Just the CCJ to go in June and my file is cleeeeeeaaaan!!Life is too short not to love what you do.2 -
So still plodding along. My budgeting has been a bit sketchy this past week or so but no credit used! Just lots of birthday/new baby/mother's day stuff that I should have properly budgeted for but didn't.
Tonight is bank pay payday so £150 to my overdraft pot which concludes this months payments.
March has seen my debt reduce by £1131.74!
It was at £19,144.08 and now it's at £16,435.26
It's still ridiculously high but at least on my file I'll be under £9k (over 5k of which is my car finance) next month, and only a matter of weeks (mid June) until the CCJ comes off my account too 🙌
The sunny weather has been fab, if not a little pricey as when I feel good I spend 🙃 but I've had 2 no spend days this week, probably due 2 more tomorrow and Saturday as I'm at work so I'm determined to take lunch and my own Monsters 😅 to stop me going to m&s!
I've written next month's budget down too so in theory Easter and my other halfs birthday will be sorted easily too!
Hope you're well and I'll be in touch soon!Life is too short not to love what you do.2 -
Hello!Sorry MIA for April, it went by so fast!I’ve been keeping at it though, I’ve paid off over £5,000 so far this year. That seems mad!
My current balance is £14,128.53
I wanted to pay off at least £500 a month at the start of the year but it’s becoming £1500! It’s just mad how much you can pay off when you set your mind to it and then at the same time also really annoying that I didn’t do this sooner. But I guess when you have a CCJ over your head it all feels unobtainable anyway. We’re keeping half an eye on Rightmove to see what is out there and what things are going for. The market still seems red hot as things that are popping up are selling just as fast! I hope things start slowing a little bit come August/sept time.39 days til the CCJ is off my file. I can. Not. Wait.Anyway thought I should update, still trucking, it’s almost in the 13s and time is running away with us!Life is too short not to love what you do.2 -
I've managed to get my debt to under £14k now!
£5145.72 gone for good.
It's madness, if you asked at the beginning of the year how far I'd be by the middle of the year I'd have never said this much.
Also I started this journey mid January, I was broke, using credit to bridge the gap and then I realised that actually I need to do a massive mindshift to have a massive shift financially. My daughter asked for chips from McDonald's and I was so broke I couldn't afford to stop and get them and that's when it clicked. My lightbulb moment.
We also need to buy a house this year and now my CCJ falls off (in 33days) I have no excuse to not be on the mortgage.
We spoke to a mortgage advisor last week who wanted a copy of our credit files via Checkmycredit. Obviously I've explained my current situation and he still wanted to see what they're like. When I logged in (last time in January) my credit score (which I know means nothing really) had gone from Very Poor at 571 to Good at 749 due to paying so much off in the past 4 months and I'm pretty proud of that.
Anyway, I know I'm shouting into the void but it's nice to write it down somewhere!Life is too short not to love what you do.4 -

Thanks lovelies! Yeah it's coming off well! I'm now down to the last £100 on my 3rd credit card then there's one last one to do... Plus a store card 🙃 then that's all the cards done!
Current total is -£5270.55

4 weeks til the CCJ falls off... I assume it will actually come off after June has passed... But we can hope!
My budget is a bit blown to pieces this month if I'm honest, a combination of work expenses (which I'll get back at the end of the month), over paying debt because it's so addictive! And also just not being as strict with myself but that needs to change!
I'm still mega proud with how well I've done so far!Life is too short not to love what you do.2
