TalkTalk FTTP Router Configuration

Our TalkTalk FTTP (Openreach) is due for installation soon. TalkTalk provide an Amazon eero 6 router, which is all great, but having existing TP-Link Deco Mesh system, we'd loath to buy additional extenders for the eero to achieve full home coverage. Particularly as the supplied eero is locked to TalkTalk. Additionally we won't benefit from it's WiFi 6 capability yet. We'd be more inclined to use it if it was the triband eero 6 pro.
So my question is:- Once we put our Deco System into Router mode (currently in AP connected to our TalkTalk WiFi Hub) - Would we need additional configuration information to use this system in lieu of the eero, or should the Deco be pretty much plug and play?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance1. Just keep the TalkTalk Eero in the box and connect your Deco System to the ONT and have it in Router mode.2. Use the TalkTalk Eero connected to the OP and put it in Bridge mode. Then plug in the Deco Mesh system into that. Basically what you are doing now, but the Eero would replace the TalkTalk Wifi Hub.1 -

Do you know if the Deco would need any additional config. I'm just thinking back to my old ADSL days, where we'd have to enter passwords, usernames and various details into the router.
My gut says that on FTTP, the ONT will being doing all the hard work, and router just navigating traffic and addresses for devices on the local network. My farts hospitalize small children1 -
That's what I would do, use the new Talk Talk device in modem mode and then plug in the Deco to that as the router / wireless.
No reason it shouldn't work but it is Talk Talk.0 -

I might be imagining things, but i only see a USB C port in the back of the eero. Where are all the LAN / WAN ports?
Edit: Spotted the LAN ports now. Think i was looking at an extender, which if right may make wired backhaul a pain.My farts hospitalize small children0 -
Too many scars from helping friends and family chasing the cheapest provider over the years I'm afraid.
As the Deco router will be hard wire plugged into the modem, then as long as it is set for DHCP then it should not need any configuration. The password etc for the broadband would be in the Talk Talk modem.

So more cables and an additional device plugged in, but no need to type in any details, just plug and play.1 -

Probably worth noting down this info from my existing TalkTalk WiFi Hub, as a backup.
May try their community forum again (being more prescriptive with my query).
TP-Link's forums seem to have more international queries for NZ and AU. Fingers crossed that the Deco just works. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
@400ixl the ONT on the wall is the modem for a FTTP installation and the eero just plugs into that.
The eero is just a router.
@dreamypuma connecting your current system to the ONT output should work fine if you put it in router mode.1 -

Spooked us a bit when Openreach said they wouldn't set it up for us (only the eero). But I guess they won't be contracted to setup third party equipment. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
For those reading this thread (sorry to part hi-jack), but any thoughts for using talktalk 900 for gaming ?
i am a PC gamer (wired), use my own router, currently with BT (ONT house only) with 150mb...
BT works good, as no shaping, and low latency...Hard to find info in terms of TalkTalk fttp in regards to latency and throttling......
And handy info on the eero, as i would have sold the eero boxes if i do go with talktalk...1
