Didn't cut my old driver's licence in half before sending it back to DVLA

Will they still accept it? Don't  want  my application to be turned down because  of this.

I don't think I did either. It's unlikely to be rejected, that's just a security measure to stop someone else nicking and using it.

Why are you sending the old licence before you have the new one?
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

because online it tells you to.

Helped renew my mums the other day and thought it odd. we've not done it though and told her to wait till she gets a new one before taking the scissors to it!

From previous threads on this question, it seems that many (most?) people don't even send the old licence back, cut-up or not. I certainly haven't. DVLA don't care.

You must send your old photocard licence to DVLA when you get your new licence. You’ll be told the address to use when you finish the application.
