My completion date is next Friday and I know that I need insurance
If you have already Exchanged Contracts, then you must have Buildings insurance in place. Otherwise if anything happened to the flat (e.g., if it burnt down) between Exchange and Completion, you would be liable.

I hope that you mean Contents insurance rather than Buildings insurance, but if the building is not covered then you really must get it covered immediately

Thanks GGH, I mean contents insurance. Building insurance is part of the service charge I pay.

Right so I can set my broadband and phone line now? Fab!

insurance seems a strange one - I asked my solicitor about this and he said I could either insure at exchange or at completion. There is something in the contract that says the seller must insure the property until completion unless told otherwise. Seems there can be issues if we both have it insured during that time if there is a claim. He said I was fine to wait until I complete next week before getting buildings insurance.

And if needed, a redirection with Royal Mail, can be done online.

For us this has been an excellent service and worth every penny. We had a few co's we just didn't think about putting on our list when changing addresses and this way we have had letters redirected and immediately notified them of address change. We did it for 6 months and just renewed for a further 6 months in case we missed anyone.
