That's more or less the way I have it set up too, makes the most of a bad job.

Another small tip for anyone who uses HUKD is to get to the end of a thread click on the user name below 'Last Post' , it's not as good as the previous 'Go To Last Unread' that was there before but it works.

I agree about the search function though, it is now verging on unusable.

The difference in the two links is that with the one by Shengis it defaults to the 'Discussed' tab i.e. lastest post first which is more like the HUKD of old.

It's down to personal preference.

That's how i've got it bookmarked, saves having to press the 'include expired' and the 'text only' options on EVERY visit. You would have thought they could have remembered those settings for you eh?

Now, if they include a skin option so we can change colour scheme to the original colours it would be 'almost' back to normal. The other gripe i've got with the current skin (apart from blinding me, and possibly using more electricity in the process) is that posts flow into one another. MSE isn't perfect (no offence Martin ;-)) but at least posts get displayed in their own box, so its easier to read/differentiate other users comments. Maybe thats something for the future, but i'm doubtful.

Also the 'find users other posts' has been replaced with 'find other posts the user has participated in' or something. Pretty useless when you actually want to see what others have actually written:rolleyes:

Have you tried reseting your DNS entries on your computer:
with XP - go to 'Start' then 'Run...' then type in 'cmd' and hit 'Okay'. In the 'Command Prompt' window that opens up type 'ipconfig /flushdns' and hit return.

That effectively forces a DNS lookup the next time you visit any page - so if any DNS entries have changed it'll pick up the new one.

It's worth a try.

I have PM'd you - another willing volunteer here!

Just seen the visitor count for the site - it was hitting records every couple of days before and now its about a quarter of visitors. I feel sorry for whoever designed it but I cant believe there wasnt more feedback from users like when the site changed here?

I never thought about book marking it again with my new settings built in DOH :embarasse thanks for the tip.

Again I agree with you about all of it as does just about everyone who use the site.

The mods have been saying that Admin might do something about the skin but if/when nobodys saying.
I'm no web expert but surely it can't be that hard.

Again the 'find users other posts' is just another case of removing functionality for no reason I can discern and it's all over the site not just the search functions.
