£39.35 spent on ocado delivery today with all the important stuff to keep us going over the week plus £10 worth of free chocolate as a gift for shopping with them for X many years. It was a godsend having a delivery pass during the last two years but blimey did I spend more on food. And like everyone else their prices have been steadily rising so I'm using them much more rarely now.

Evening,
Just thought I'd let you know that the Cinnamon Apple Turnip soup turned out well, as it's a new recipe to me. I did 'tinker' a bit with the recipe. I used the last greeny/yellow apple from the MrL box, plus a couple of small apples from the fruit bowl (pretty sure they were Gala), and I didn't add ANY sugar to my soup. I also didn't bother adding any 'heavy cream' (would have used Greek yoghurt anyway, as that is what we have in), into the soup when making, but you can see from the pic, I did do a bit of a poncy swirl of Greek yoghurt to serve - jus' 'cuz......... 🤣
I am guilty of being too heavy handed with the cinnamon, but that was my fault for not reaching across to get a teaspoon 🙄 And I topped with a little (dried) parsley, again, jus fer effect and colour - as I am aware that some of my teas do appear to be variations on the scale of brown.......😬 A relatively cheap, nice tasting soup, which is easy to make. A keeper for me.

Very true @joedenise I did it, and ate banana, yoghurt and granola instead 😋joedenise said:GC 2026 ~ Jan £213.45/180 Feb £180.21/£120 Mar £85.43/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Two person vegan household, with occasional visitors)Join me on the meal plan thread : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6356309/could-we-start-a-meal-plan-thread-again-so-its-not-lost-in-the-gc/p1Forever learning the art of frugality5 -
Just had my subscription coffee delivered by big river company. It was £27 this time for 6 x 190g jars of our preferred Dutch brand - it was showing as £43 a couple of weeks ago. It is £33 in the SM on offer so v happy with this one. I also got 4 packs of Tw Everyday tea for £10.80 - also happy. No SM for me this week. I might need to top up fruit by Friday but that is market day. Expecting my coffee over the weekend, seems to have settled now as every other delivery was unavailable, shortened my delivery to 4 weeks instead of 6, but will go back to 6 after this delivery as a decent stock now.Suffolk_lass said:Just had my subscription coffee delivered by big river company. Grocery spends are now up to £106.89/£123. Spent £14.63 in Mr M today on some bits for tea tonight, ingredients for a soup I can have for lunches, bread and pasta. There was more of the 85p non-dairy ice cream so I got a tub for tonight's pudding.
8 days left of the month, £16.11 left. With a bit of pre-planning, I can probably manage.
I'll venture to Mr S on Friday to see what prices they've got on tofu. I've got some decent n3ctar price offers, so I might take advantage of those as long as I'll use them.4
