Evening allToday I have / will:Dog walkKitchen and bathroom clean upWent out to a local town to have a look round the shops. Bought some potatoes
but enjoyed looking in the trendy little shops in this rather posh town. Actually I bought a little pot of sweet pea plants at the market as well. Went into Lidl on the way home to do the shopping for this week. Didn't need much. Looked at the £1.50 veg boxes, but they were full of wilted herbs and green potatoes, so I didn't buy!
Got the growlight out of the loft, set it up in the dining room, and sowed some aubergine and mesembryanthemum (sp?) seeds.Listed some slug trap things on the local gardening site for free pick up.DD left some stuff on the doorstep (just recovered from covid, so she didn't want to come in), a sort of sourdough culture called a 'Herman' in a jam jar, some parsnips from one of her neighbours, a grubby blanket that she must have borrowed at some point, and one of my shopping bagsShe texted me instructions and recipes for the Herman. It is very like an American type thing that was circulating round the school mums years ago. I will try it out, so followed the instructions to get it going, and hope it doesn't climb out of its bowl overnight!
Need to record spends, and get OH to prep the parsnips, as the arthritis in my hands is playing up today.2 -

Shopping/Meal plans - I would go through cupboards, fridge, freezer and make a list of everything I had and then see what meals I can make with what I already have, or just buy odd bits to make meals. Batch cook and freeze bases - mince for example which can be turned into shepherds pie, chilli, bolognaise, small portions could be made into lunch. If you have regular takeaways how about having a fakeaway instead.
Re-share referral codes (every little helps)@ziggy2407 thanks you for your idea of a fakeaway I'm going to have a proper look over the next few days, what referral codes do you share? Thanks Deb4

Well done @jadewest94Today I have / will:Been up for most of the night as the dog wasn't well. He seems ok now, but I am shattered! OH has just taken him for a short walk, and he (dog, not OH) has gone back to bed. OK for some!I have checked the banks and updated my spreadsheet (in the middle of the night)Cleaned up the kitchenNow having a second coffee. Many more to follow today I think!I intend to sort out the fridge and freezer today, maybe the larder as well. None are really bad, but I like to keep on top of things to avoid the possibility of food waste. Some sort of meal plan (which I am actually rubbish at, must get better)Clean the bathroomMaybe get out in the garden for some fresh air laterNothing very ambitious!3
