if the unauthorised overdraft goes on your credit file that would not be correct, as it has resulted from fraud which is circumstances beyond your control.
That would be unfairly penalising you for fraud, would certainly be monitoring your credit file as financial institutions are not exactly known for accuracy given the volume of people working remotely due to covid1 -

For anyone else waiting for the money, FYI I have received a full refund for the fraudulent transaction today.
Has anyone raised a complaint about this whole Nando's / Foot Assylum debacle?0 -

Somewhere along the line a retailer will have been compromised. Card details stolen & sold on. No amount of complaining will stop it from happening.
Not banks fault. Not Nando's or Foot Assylum fault.. Might be able to blame where the details came from. But odds on you will never find out. Bank certainly will not tell you.
Even then you are not out of pocket.Life in the slow lane0 -
It does seem strange that only First Direct cards seem to have been compromised, and the fraud has affected cards that have never been used for anything, and have been sitting in a desk drawer since delivery. I don't see how it can be a retailer data leak.
First Direct's response for me has been exemplary. Replacement card arrived in the post the next day, and I already have my money back.

Regardless, I have now frozen the card so hopefully that will stop this from ever happening again.0
